There's no way I'm calling BI on that first play in the video. I realize what they were trying to show, but it didn't happen in the video.

and that's why it's a "judgement" call. What you may see one way, somebody else could see the exact opposite. Or, someone has a different angle from where they are standing giving them a better look than the official making the call. Another issue that most every umpire has experienced is being straight lined and being blocked from seeing a play.

@@baseballrules That's all fine, but all I'm saying is that, when you're making an instructional video, it's best to make it clear what it is you're trying to show. I would expect 95%+ of umpires to NOT call BI on that first play as shown. It's just not a good example. To get the BI call, it should be much more obvious than that.
