I would be very very interested to see you try to incorporate this device into barbell work, as you would bands and chains. Bromley has been doing some really interesting stuff with a similar device which he accredits to adding an inch or so to his arms.

That is my plan as well. Need to figure out a good way to set it up!

I want these bad. I have no floor space left really and want a functional trainer badly. These would work. But I'd like to see the technology come along a little further to where two units can adjust with each other (maybe bluetooth). The price needs to come down and the warranty needs to improve too. But damn so promising.

You can pair them and adjust at the same time (might be app only).

can you only do drop sets by programming them in or can you do it more organically like you typically would with analog weights?
@BasementBrandon4 ай бұрын
You can also just alter the weights by touching the screen, this just makes it more convenient where you don't have to stop doing what you're doing.

@@BasementBrandon ah- that makes sense. I struggle w predefined drop sets because, if I do them at all, I do them when I’m close to muscle failure and reaching that point depends on various factors like weight selection, sleep, food intake, overall fatigue, etc and that can be really hard to gauge until I’m actually doing the set.

I’m starting my home gym build and I’m considering buying the voltras. If you were starting a home gym build would you recommend 2 voltras or a functional trainer like a free motion dual cable cross?
@BasementBrandon4 ай бұрын
It's a tough one. I like the voltras a lot but find them hard to recommend at basically $2500 a piece once you get mounts and pay shipping. I think most would likely be better off buying a dedicated machine unless you konw for sure you have the budget, will use all the extra features, and/or are short on floor space.

Is this device being regulated by a motor? If so, I'd worry about its longevity/durability. And what to do if it needs repairs, etc. Certainly space-saving, for sure. But I'd be financially taking a gamble if I were to make my home gym entirely revolved around this gadget.

Where did you find the pivot mount? That's critical but I don't see them selling it.

It's a prototype
