There is a tab that was not shown on installing the rear mudflap, on my MYP 24, you must make sure the tab at the top is inserted behind the stock black plastic piece, if not it will stick out at the top.

I think I did show it at 4:15. Is it the plastic washer that’s originally on the screw that you are talking about?
@retrothruster25396 ай бұрын
@@randomhomegadgets No, it would have been at 4:49, there is a tab up close to the screw in washer at the top, you failed to show this, I have watched it 3 times, on my version 24 MYP, it clips over the existing plastic trim piece, if not properly clipped in, the top portion of the mud flap will stick out 2-3 mm. Look where your thumb is at 4:49, this is where it is located. My version does not have the tracks for the metal clip to slide in like in the video, I did install them but I really don't feel that they are necessary, my passenger side will not fully insert, it won't fall out but I wouldn't install them if I had to do it again, they scratch the plastic when installing, they are supposed to but I feel the mud flap is sturdy enough without them. I am very happy with my mud flaps, they are of high quality, I just wanted to point out that some folks might encounter the tab mentioned above.

Thanks for pointing it out. Mine was a 23 model Y long range. Maybe the trim was slightly different so mine just clicked in without too much difficulty.

The description says that the rear wheel top hole needs to be enlarged on the 2023 Model Y. Did you have to do that?
@randomhomegadgets Жыл бұрын
I didn’t have to. My Model Y is the 2023 build. You can see the top hole fits ok.

I was told that rear bumper bolt is hard to remove/ reattach. You made it look so easy but many people have issues with the bolt and nut breaking. Any feedback, what did you use to remove bolt?
@randomhomegadgets Жыл бұрын
I used a good wrench to take it out. The car is relatively new so the bolt is clean and no rusting, therefore it’s easy to remove. However if your bolt has dirts or rust around, then should clean it up first, apply the rust removal spray, then wrench it out after.

Use a quality box end 10mm wrench or socket and you'll have no problem. The bolt does have some loc-tite on the threads and it will give some resistance when you loosen it. I just installed a set on my '24 Tesla Model Y today. Took maybe 20 mins total.

@@mowcowbell Good to know. I took delivery of my '24 MYP this week, and I am about to go out and install these Basenor Mud Flaps. "Guess what! I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!"
