BASEUS 65 Watt Power Bank - The Best Portable Charging for Steam Deck?

We are frequently asked on Reddit "what's the best power bank for the Steam Deck?" - as usual, there is no right answer. The best power bank on the Deck is the one what meets YOUR fiscal and feature needs.
Reddit seems to agree that - dollar for dollar - the Baseus 65w Power bank is the best bang for the buck. Since I didn't have one to test myself, I decided to get one for review.
Does it have everything I need? Let's find out.
I have completed my "parallel play" with this battery and it gave me an additional 2.25 hours of play time with Overwatch 2.

For those who want to use it on an airplane, please be advised that watts of powerbanks are often restricted on a plane. Last I flew with KLM and powerbanks over 60W were not allowed in carry-on baggage.

19.9v x 2.0a = 39,8 watts. I got the 30000 and you can play with it plugged in as if it was connected to the wall, full 65 watts. I use it with my rog ally and it's perfect.

I have one of these, it's one of the better power banks I've purchased and my main power bank I use for my steamdeck.edit: Apologies, the one I have is the higher capacity one that has the display on the center of the charger. Either way its been great.

Don't you need a 65 or 100 watt usb cable to benefit for the full power blast ??

I just got to ask why would you want to charge your power brick while playing the steam deck when you could just plug the steam deck directly into the power source it doesn't make sense why would any other power brick allow that I don't know I'm kind of confused by that other than that decent video I also have this power brick and it's also the best one I've ever used.

Because with the right charger? You could actually be topping the battery off while you're playing the Steam Deck being powered by it.

I'm not that low level of a user :) Perhaps their product specs could answer that? Sorry I don't have that information for you. If you have a use case, and it is something I can test with a USB "multimeter", I'd be happy to do so.

Watt = Volt*Ampere if it says 20Volt and 2Amp WATTs=20*2 = 40Watts

What is the point on wanting to charge a bank and use it at the same time. No persons life is that busy that they need a bank to use when charging. Not a feature required in a bank.

Ever been on vacation? This is where I typically use this feature. Let me paint a picture for you. You just got back from 16 hours at Disneyland with your family of four. All day long you're taking pictures, using your phone waiting in lines. Everyone's phone needs a little top off during the day so you pass around the power bank. Now you get back to the hotel with a dead power bank, just want to play a little Overwatch on your Steam Deck. Being able to charge the power bank while you're playing on the Deck is very useful. Esp. since many cheap Anaheim hotels have very few outlets - and the rest of the family is scattered around the room using the other outlets for their crap. Or, maybe you just like the convenience of charge and use because you only have one high end charger with you? I cover this feature because I've been ASKED to cover this feature when reviewing power banks. Required for everyone? No. Required for some? Yes. Nice to have? Absolutely.

So strange the diversity of experiences with power banks. I have at least a dozen makes and models around here - none of them have ever outright "stopped working". Most they are outgrown by the need for PD or higher wattage. But they still work. Reddit gushes over this bank - and while it isn't my daily driver (Anker 737 gets that honor) its still up and running. Maybe power banks have a cheaper, more error-prone manufacturing process ... I dunno.

@@michaelclarences you'll get 30 watts but it doesn't trigger the 30 w badge? Isn't that correct? All of these docs cables and whatnot will provide the necessary wattage but without that 30 watt badge people complain that they can't do manual curves and profiles.

If you know amps and volts then multiply those and you get your watts. Cumbersome but you could figure it out yourself if they don’t want to display it for you.

This product is a nightmare. Cheap build quality. I ordered one and it was DOA. Returned that one and got a second one that worked once and then refused to charge. Trust me this company and it’s products are absolute garbage.

Mine works fine. The main issue I have is how the new Steam Deck OS keeps the LED charge light on even after a full charge forcing me to charge my Deck while in sleep mode which I hate.
