Around the 7:50 mark you experienced a 'blockage' and cleared it and made the comment about Tamiya acrylics. If you are using Tamiya lacquer thinner, that will keep your needle tip clean. I have had grief with different acrylics so now I am thinning and straining my paint before I shoot. I found a fine mesh metal strainer at an auto body shop supply store. BIG difference.

I use isopropyl or ethanol. You can use tamiya-thinner as well but it is much more expensive

It's kinda stupid question, but whatever.. How do you decide which part you'll paint first? I mean the order of the painting process. Is it always the skin first?
@ChiTownHero7 жыл бұрын
General rule of thumb is to paint that which is in the deepest recesses first. This allows you to clean up mistakes as you move further "outside" of the model.

You can solve the needle prob with water based acrylics using a flow improver/retardant. The specific products from Vallejo are a bit pricy but a good alternative is a drop (JUST 1 drop or less!) of common dish soap and/or a drop (JUST 1 DROP or less!) of natural glicerine (you can find that in an e-cigarette store... is used by the vape-community for make the cloud-chasing mixtures). The result you get is an improving of the air/color flow and the dry-time is retarded... so the needle don't clogh with dryed color. You can then re-speed up the color on the model with an air-dryer.

your PSI is to high you need to lower it down to about 25-30 PSI sounds like your at 40+ the Alcohol is drying to Fast on the tip this Cause your paint to Fail I never mix Alcohol with Acrylics but then again your also using GW ( there paint is known For Tons of pigment imprecates and is often impure paint for a Air brush but I do have to say you have a lot of skill my friend..

I'm a professional in airbrushing and you showed a bad thing in this video. you use a citadel painting with your airbrush and many people will do the same thing that you. Never used the citadel painting, in an airbruch because this is the best way to endomager your tool. the pigments are not the same than in a paint for special airbrush.
@Midnorme9 жыл бұрын
Pascal Rob Can you back up your claim with any evidence? I would be interested to know what's in the citadel paint that is so bad for your airbrush. Thanks
@pascalrob23019 жыл бұрын
Midnorme Because citadel paint is not for airbrush. The consistency of citadel paint is not made for airbrush. There is really a paint that is specialized for airbrushing and that is "Model Air" or "Prince August". You can use citadel but as time goes it will eventually damage your airbrush. I will try to send you photos of an airbrush use with Citadel .
@pascalrob23018 жыл бұрын
+Aznod You made a mistake nothing to do with the consistency it's just a matter of pigments. In the short to medium term, just for a matter of economics, you will damage your airbrush and the bill is likely to be fraught with concéquence.
@rui2duarte7 жыл бұрын
Valejjo model air as the same pigment as the model color version, even the brand says that, and paint pigment damaging a metal tip of an AB? not even in a lifetime! The nozzle of and airbrush suffers from abrasion because we use a stainless steel needle (very hard) on a brass nozzle (very soft). As a "professional" airbrusher you should know your tools a little better.
@Pimentel-Kreations6 жыл бұрын
Professional? LMAO you sound like a stupid fool and an amateur. Shut the fuck up bitch! Stop spreading fake propaganda.
