It gets so much hate but Enter dog of Pavlov gets a score beyond 10/10 for me... and even when they were testing the waters at the live shows for Panic, the crowd was negative to "{are you enjoying the new music?" But the crowd went fucking mental for Let this river flow. People WANT to hate new Soilwork but they really don't, and should embrace this evolution!

Yesssssss more Soilwork! These guys are fantastic and I love the restraint in their playing in this song. These guys are phenomenal players but they value musicality over shreddiness which I think is a great sign of maturity as musicians.

R.I.P. Daniel Andersson. What an absolute bummer man. This album is another masterpiece by them and he will really be missed. They really started adopting more of an almost progressive feel to their music the last 5-6 albums. I'm not sure if that development came from Sylvain Coudret or David on guitar, but they made a fucking awesome duo. If you get the opportunity, give the double album 'The Living Infinite' a full listen through. I had that album on repeat for months. And they always have these videos that feel like they have nothing to do with the song, lol. This one was far better than the ones off The Living Infinite.

Soilwork just keeps getting better! It’s absolutely amazing how they’ve evolved despite all the hardship recently. 😢 Just saw them live last week and they were in shape!! They’ve been able to grow into an incredible modern melody festival (hah) yet keeping their roots at the same time and still somehow manage to sound their old selves anyway!! Easily the most underrated of any of the bands I listen to. They deserve stadiums, they deserve crowds, rewards, all of it. Can any other band give these goosebumps album after album?!? I'm very glad you got to some Soilwork! I'm like you where I listened to them a ton back in the early 2000s. I feel like they made a change starting with The Panic Broadcast album and that's where they really started standing out in the Melodeth scene like you mentioned. Speed's vocals are second to none. Both harsh and clean, it's hard to compete. But musically they seem more technical and dynamic. If you haven't checked out their double album from 2012 or 2013, "The Living Infinite", I would absolutely recommend it. Very easy to front-to-back that one. Keep up the solid work, brother!

Saw Soilwork and Night Flight Orchestra earlier this year at Karmøygeddon (the festivals slogan is "a cosier hell". The man is a beast. Loved every second of it. Been my favorite band for the last 16 years and has brought me through dark times as well as helped me celebrate good times. Their album "Verkeligheten" is quite 80s rock inspired (so influenced by Night Flight, Björn and Davids side project). This music video is also the first "high quality" Soilwork has done in a while. They have created some awesome videoes that feel like home made 80s movies. I recommend taken a listen to song from Verkeligheten and Death Resonance (B-tracks and Japan exclusives finally released for everyone as well as some new tracks). They also created the first double album in Melodic Death Metals history, The Living Infinite (or so I was told). Björn Speed Strid is an insanely busy guy, with two touring bands, doing guest vocals on a huge amount of tracks as well as releasing music all the time.

Stabbing the drama is pure perfection, and whenever there is an itch for melodeath there's nothing quite like Soilwork to scratch it. Im hoping this will be the album with their more modern sound that will make me run back crying to them bc I still think Bjorn is my favorite vocalist in the whole world. Soilwork is indeed a fond memory of younger years. If i recall things correctly they are one of the bands from the Swedish west coast that emerged around the late 90's / early 2000. In Flames, Dark Tranquility were other similar bands at the time (and perhaps At the Gates and The Haunted, although they differ a bit from the three mentioned). Soilwork and In Flames produced a video each where the other band is in the video by the way. Those are a bit amusing. Anyhow. Lost track of Soilwork for a good while, but when they released Stålfågel (Steel bird) they grew on me again.

Relatively new to the melodeath, so not sure how well this generalization holds across its entirety, but Soilwork has stood out for me as well. First for their vocals, where they seem in a tier of their own, both with harshes and cleans - when I found out they've worked with DT, I thought it so fitting. And then there is this almost country-ish vibe peeking through - sometimes the instrumental touches and sometimes whole choruses that could've come from a 90s or 00s mainstream country. Very interesting band.

Always have a special place in my heart. But nostalgia aside, they never miss with their releases. Their last few albums have been incredible. You should listen to their last couple albums and their EP they released recently (the EP tells a story and they released a music video for each song on the EP so that's how you should experience it). You should go back and check out their previous albums, they really changed it up a few gears since FNF. The did a double album called "The Living Infinite" which was out of this world. Stand out songs: Spectrum of Eternity - The Momentary Bliss - Vesta - The Windswept Mercy - Long Live the Misanthrope - Rise Above the Sentiment - Owls Predict, Oracles Stand Guard (Owls is a sludge song) To be honest every song on her is top tier. Their follow up album "The Ride Majestic" is my personal favourite. You can listen to it from start to finish with no filler. Death in General - Enemies in Fidelity and Father and Son, Watching the World Go Down are my top recommendations.

The music in NFO is much more light hearted but I liked his voice, so I gave soilwork a try. Still not 100% my music, but very different to other Deathmetal. I dont know at that point if soilwork for me really is Deathmetal or if I just have a very narrow Definition of that Genre :D Please give Night Flight Orchestra also a try, it's different, but awesome and groovy :)

Been a Soilwork fan from the day I first heard Chainheart Machine all those years ago. Soilwork is like a finely aged wine. They've mellowed and become more complex with age . They've harnessed their melodic grooves of the early years with some seasoned veteran sensibilities. Bjorn's vocals are still awesome dispite loosing some of the venom he had I'm the first half of the bands discography. The more mainstream sound they now have really came into prominence with Stabbing the Drama (an excellent album in its own regard). @Tank should check out Stalfagel ft. Alissa White-Gluz from the last album, Verkligheten. Super catchy, monster chorus. Only real skipable album in the Soilwork discography in my opinion is The Ride Majestic. Not much there to sink your teeth into outside of the title track.
@dodgrblu2 жыл бұрын
gotta disagree, The Ride Majestic is amazing, a bit of a grower but it has many fantastic songs on there. Sworn to a great Divide is the skippable album. On the other hand Stalfagel actual turned out better without Alissa, which I assume is why they didn't use the version with her on the album.

@@TankTheTech I understand, interesting! In German there is also a second meaning for Arsch (ass). For example, if you want to say that something or someone is really slow, then you could say it/he/she is "arsch-langsam" (literally: ass slow - or slow as f*ck) I think this second usage is kinda the same in both languages.
