Ballet, I've missed you for so long.... Thank you for the video, I'm trying to get back into Ballet after my grandpa died a year ago. All I did was dance for him, I danced for him my entire life whether it was Michael Jackson or to something that had a nice rhythm, I would dance. He would always smile and laugh and tell me how much he loved me and my sister. It's been a long time since I took a ballet barre class. A year ago at my old school before my grandpa passed, they had a dance class and I always showed up for Ballet class, disliked Hip Hop and Modern but Ballet stuck. After class I approached my teacher and asked how can I strengthen my arabesque and did one for her and she was amazed. She said I had a higher arabesque than she did and she was a higher up in her company. She saw potential in me and tried to get me in enrolled in the rock school of dance, I was 14 turning 15 in a few months(about 7 months pf training myself vigorously, day in day out). To sum up the story, I chickened and well never called her, she was going to give me free ballet lessons and get me on pointe befoee the year was out so I can join the rock school(where she worked). I don't regret my decision because when my grandpa died I... well, rebelled and didn't do ballet. Then, I found Blogilates and Fitness Blender and now and I'm doing it for me. But I've been going back and forth and I don't really have thw motivation to do it or try back to get into it, thanks to ur video I can do that.

Hi there! Random question, but how big is the piece of wood you're dancing on? I'm looking to make a mini floor and barre setup just like this, and wondering what size you use, and if you think it's enough room. Thanks so much for your time!

this video was very helpful! I am 28 and have gotten back into dance after a very long absence. This at home bar helps me keep up my technique when I can't make it to the studio. I am a medic in the Army and my weekly schedule is never the same. I am in the studio about 2 a month, so being able to do stuff at home is very helpful.

I just discovered your channel. Thank you so much for all of your work in putting this together. My roots are ballet and I danced until I was in my 30's. I'm rediscovering ballet again thanks to you.

Abby, this bar is great! The frappe placement of the foot helped me feel my turnout and correct position front side and back. I also liked the fondue breakdown, using coupe and attitude to help both legs extend and straighten at the same time. Thank you so much for your expertise and for making the barre exercises.

I am interested in taking a beginner adult ballet class, but can't find one happening in my area that is when I can get there. I've been using various videos to learn the positions of the arms and feet and have been learning to work through the routines in this video. I am really enjoying myself and do very much want to do a class as soon as I can find one. Thanks so much for your channel! I am sure I'll continue to find this and other videos of yours quite helpful.

It's a piece of wood from Lowe's. Cost between $40-$50.

I agree! One of my favorites. It is Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, arranged for ballet class and played by Sarah Lund.
