At first I thought a Boyz II Men song was about to breakout. I usually have my finger over the mute button, but when I turned the volume up, I was baffled... Nice melodic BG music, with a soft, but well-spoken dialogue from an individual who knows what he's talking about... AND took the time to show and explain each step of the setup process... I just came for a quick refresh on the terminal login, but stayed to watch the whole damn video just because I was so impressed. Good work bruh... GOOD WORK!!

Wow, I just did the same thing, I'm in cisco 4 and just got a 2960+24lt with poe, a 1921 isr and am ordering an ehwic adsl card for the router so I can use only cisco. I have a suggestion tho, you whould hook your router through the g0/0 port on the switch instead of using a f port.

Good evening. 1. How is the dhcp pool "Base" used in this video? You are not using it your access list. 2. Is there another video that shows the config on the switch?

Nice! I just ordered a 2921 router, need to setup it up with my VDSL connection via PPPoE or I think my ISP uses network level auth so just a DHCP form the WAN port

Ok, so i followed along and put in everything correctly, however when you were putting in the ip route, you said that the "192.168.1.254" could be different on other routers, do you know where i can find what to put here? Thanks.

Check your default-gateway ip address by issuing ipconfig /all on the cmd
@1negenius5 жыл бұрын
its the default gateway; on a local PC connected to the network...Open RUN, type CMD, type IPCONFIG /ALL then search results for Default Gateway IP Address
@BeneeUK4 жыл бұрын
thats the ip of your router, the default gateway, hes setting a gateway of last resort so if the router doesnt know the address, it just sends it up the hierarchy
@JCGarcia14 жыл бұрын
I'm super late here but it would be in your cmd prompt, type ipconfig and it would be your default gateway!
@craigsmith28045 жыл бұрын
This setup will only allow your home lab to connect to the internet, but it'll slow your devices internet speed connected to that switch since the traffic is going through NAT twice, once on cisco router and again on home modem.

Did you use a cross-over cable between you home router and the Cisco router ? 5:08 Default-Router settings may not have applied. You missed the '-' in the middle.
@omarbenazza5 жыл бұрын
He forgot to add "-" between default and router but router had applied the command correctly and add "-",You can see it in running config at 7:33.

Just an ethernet cable will do, cat 5 /cat 6 is obviously better but at a short distance normal ethernet cables will work

is the internet faster when you use cisco router ? or why do you use it ?
@BeneeUK4 жыл бұрын
many businesses or homes with multiple end devices may use routers and switches to manage all the traffic within that network, its not faster to do this because he's his router is a client of his ISP's router and the router provided to him by his ISP just as his mobile, laptop etc are.
@technologyindustry18724 жыл бұрын
Faster, and securer

Can you do i video on how to telnet in from the outside ... I have verizon as my ISP
@easymoney19975 жыл бұрын
first you need to console in and set a password, telnet will be refused until you do this.
@marklucas42744 жыл бұрын
You would be better off using a remote access vpn and connecting to the router/switch via SSH. Telnet isnt encrypted.

where is your PPPOE configuration ?
@WigganNuG5 жыл бұрын
Why would he need to setup PPPoE configuration on the Cisco router? Its being done downstream on his Modem, which I THINK is DSL based on 1:43. The biggest question is why does DSL still exist :) j/k ... sorta. It's gonna be like dial-up... extinct/free one day :)
@WigganNuG5 жыл бұрын
Upstream?
