Thank you so much for this video! I just started working with polymer clay about 2 months ago after seeing some beautiful sets of polymer clay covered crochet hooks! My first thought was, "Hey, I can do that"! Well as it turned out, NO, I could not! I just could not do a flower cane to save my soul! I am very proud to report your video helped me to finally accomplish it! I am forever in your debt! As far as I am concerned you totally ROCK!

You are such a great teacher ! I have watched so many tutorials on reducing canes but they always came out warped and distorted or I couldn't clearly understand the tutorial. This is so easy to understand and awesome !! I think I'll give canes another try after this. Another tip if your clay is a bit too sticky ... dust baby powder on your hands and your hands won't stick to it.

Using that ruler with the grid is brilliant. I'm sure it helps get everything the same size. TIP for anyone who doesn't already know: if your canes are getting too soft, put them in the fridge, or even freezer, before cutting or reducing them. That way you don't have to wait for them to cool. Just don't let the clay get so cold it shatters or flakes.

Great tips! Especially about the consistency of all clay used, something that has been an issue with the few canes I attempted. Also I love the cradle idea you used for slicing the cane...genius! I would love to see you make a Natasha or miracle cane/bead type of project.

Thank you again very informative you explanation very clear it made me want to actually pull out three colors and begin to create. Its craftsmart from Michales, I thought I would start with my less expensive clay till I work my way through your videos. I chose Turquoise, Purple and white because thats what I have. I will allow my clay to rest and cool down as you suggested in your video as my hands change from hot to cold and back again. sounds strange but thats what happens when your having hot flashes. Thank you again. Lynn

I was hoping to find a tutorial on making citrus fruits because I love how cute little orange slices are for charms and decor, and was kinda sad until I found this. You taught really simple techniques, but they are versatile. I am gonna try to make an orange or lemon cane using a method similar to how you wrapped each petal, but triangular of course. You did great on this, and I appreciate the explanations

I used to make Lil animals with it but did know you could do all these pretty canes at make wonderful flowers and stuff . Question? What is the main 6 things I really need to get started making canes and also what do you use to bake them on? I see others using tiles but they do not say what kind or where they got them. Thanks for sharing your videos. This was my first one of yours excited to watch. Brightest blessings Hun!!!!!!

Yay! I am excited for this new playlist :) and I am going to try this, but I think I will add a 6th petal. And good to know about the inconsistencies with the clay. Also... two ideas, not for canes, but I wondered if it was "Doable"... can you make something like a marble with Polymer clay? and How about beads, maybe with a cane-like pattern on it ? Great first episode. =)
