Hello Corporal, I'm an adult with autism and have recently found your channel. I would like to thank you for your films. I have found them to be very therapeutic in dealing with my condition (and I love the family friendly no BS approach). Now when the world gets too much and my anxiety rises I go straight to your channel and try out techniques with knots, hitches and lashes which you have explained and demonstrated so eloquently. I wish you all the best for your future projects and rest assured that I will be watching, learning and best of all, relaxing. Cheers Criss

I like how you face your hands the same direction that the viewer on the screen, would naturally look at it. Another thing that helped me is to call one of the ends the live end and the back and the dead end. (Obviously referring to the rope.) It's amazing how how terminology can be so confusing when trying to learn how to tie knots. I'm very proud of myself, at least I can make a rain fly work for me when I'm camping. Because now I'm able pull the trap tight. Much better than a clueless man that I used to be. I Bicycle Tour a lot and have gotten better over the years, with help from people like you.

Glad I found this regarding the knots. Discovered your series yesterday with the Sand Bag "cottage". But, the knots you were using I was not familiar with, let alone be able to reproduce. So, I was hoping you had some videos on them I was raised Navy; but, I never was able to become truly knoty. Being dyslexic, this stuff is tough for me. New Subscriber and love the content, filming and your follow up recaps. You're a true educator! Thanks

We live around the water and do lots of fishing and camping and the most important knot for us is the Siberian hitch for tying fishlines to tree limbs, boats to docks and hammock strings to trees.

Very good demo of these knots. Good vid. One suggestion for the larks head and prusik is to move the knot to the side so it is not have the weight born upon it.

I couldn't find a place to leave you a question so I will ask it here. I am learning to magnet fish and I would like to ask you if you can recommend a really good knot to attach the magnet to the carabiner. I am saving this tutorial so I can learn to do the other knots. I thought of you because you are so skilled at this important issue. Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated!! From your Billings Montana fan!!

Hi watching you simplify things is inspirational. I have made and practiced your preferred ridge line. Loving it. Want to practice your most useful knots, and lashings. Do you use twisted or braided bank line? Do you suggest carrying both? Thanks 🔥

fun fact: if you put the static end of a basic slipknot through its of own loop and pull the loop until it inverts (or "eats itself") you get a bolan (minus the stopknot on the end)
