bb7 only actuates on one side. still a good brake though, some would say for mechanical, one sided is better. if you stay on top of adjusting the pads, the tiny bit of rotor flex is not an issue and I've never had mine go out of true.

BB5 only actuates on one side. BB7 is both sides. EDIT: oh wait a minute I’m an idiot lol. There is brake adjustment on both sides but only actuates on one!

Thanks again! I just edited my description. I don’t know how I missed that. I think I just had it in my head with the pad adjustment on both sides.

I am wanting to purchase an Emojo E trike with hydraulic brakes. However, it does not have a parking brake and I feel that would be needed. Do you know if you can add (or if they even make that type of a part) that to an existing trike? Thank you for any help.

Hey there, I’m not too sure off the top of my head but I’m sure there is something for trikes and cargo bikes. You could talk to your local bike shop too, they might have some ideas.

Lets talk about how bad pro max render r calipers are and who on earth gave them the go ahead by cannondale to go on their topstone 1 bikes

That’s frustrating! Sounds like your going to have an upgrade in the future! I really like the BB7’s I have on my fat bike if your sticking with mechanical.

Haha yup I’ve been there! There are a few of us out there is super cold temps.

@@ivanmtb00 Coldest I rode was +9°C at night and very humid. Took me like 15 whole minutes pedaling to even warm up. Cold temperatures are not for me 😁✌️

Well we all have our limits and what we are used to. Humidity can change things as well and make a big difference!

Hydraulic brakes are absolute crap. Their system can leak from anywhere. You need to bleed and change the fluid at least once a year. Even with a fluid change, they may still not work properly, the pistons may not function well, or there may still be leaks. Sometimes you have to replace the entire brake set.

Sounds like you had some bad luck with hydraulics! I realllly like mine on my trail bikes. Very little maintenance other then a simple bleed, no pad adjustment, very powerful and excellent stopping power. The only time I prefer mechanical is in cold weather. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with them.
