Great video. You're the ONLY video in the entire Internet that talks about the Pentair COM Port Expansion board at 30:40 and how to connect it and how it's used. For others searching - Basically it is a shared bus whereby you can expand your one Pentair J20 COM Port to 2 (should have been more but you can daisy chain these expansion modules but it will lower some voltage depending on concurrent access). You need 2 so you can plug 1 to your Wired Indoor Panel and 2nd to your Screenlogic Wifi Adapter. Board J20 Com port Expansion module J1. And J2 to Wired Indoor Panel and J3 to ScreenLogic Wifi Adapter. It's a shame Pentair charges $750 for the Screenlogic and so much for the board and does not even put proper expansion ports in it. It's like buying a PC with 1 USB port only. We need cheaper alternatives.

I hardly spend the time to write comments, but this video was well put together. It's good to see this level of attention to detail. Thank you.

very infromative. I was hoping that you'd wire the panel as you demonstrate. that would ve been very hands on helpful. hope to see that in the next videos. Thanks

Thank-you for the verification that I was doing everythint correct on a Rewire from a "Professional Install" that completely skipped the Breakers, Grounding, and other issues. Someday I swear I'll know it all, but until then KZbin videos like this one are GREAT for learning those tidbits which I've not run into yet.

Thanks so much for these two modules! This knowledge allowed me to install a new Intellicenter subpanel and wire up everything correctly. Can't thank you enough.

GFI's work on monitoring Current not Voltage! They typically trip with a differential of a mere 5 ma's

I was told they were sensitive to minute amount of moisture, makes sense , water effecting current and required in wet zones. Jim

My pool has a non gfci 20amp 2 pole breaker. When I turn the breaker off the salt cell, pump and gas heater turn off. Is it normal to have all three of those wired to that one breaker? If I decide to switch out to the Pentair GFCI breaker is it just as simple as replacing it still controlling all three items? The only other breaker I have is a 15 amp single pole non gfci which controls the control panel and sends power to the GFCI receptacle on the side which then has my lights running through the GFCI receptacle. Thank you for the great video!!

Thank you for the detailed videos. Are you using 12 awg wire for all the 20 amp circuits, including after the relays?

Can’t agree on a few things. The Line side of the gfci outlet should go to breaker and screen. Your lights and convenience outlet should be on the load side. “If/when the lights trip it only trips the load side of the gfci outlet” Food for thought

Where can we contact you for additional questions ? I saw all your videos and I really appreciate it my panel is totally wrong I had such a bad experience with the people that connected I am willing to pay the walk through in order to correct it. Thanks in advance.

Presumably your lights are 120V going to the GFCI Breaker - what if my lights are 12V - I have a 120V - 12V AC transformer going into a breaker but I don't think that breaker is GFCI (in Florida). This was all inspected about 5 years ago and passed so not sure. As far as the breaker and wiring, how would you handle two 12 V LED lights coming into this transformer? Thank you!!!
@toolsofthetrade7 Жыл бұрын
Does that come with that transformer? Assuming for lights and should that be in with hi voltage

Do you know how to wire fire fire pot igniters into the system? I have 2x 24v xformers and hoping to run off the phone app. Please advise.

What would happen if you run a pool lights' neutral/white, like with the high voltage, through the relay vs directly to GFCI breaker? Is there a direct reaction to its function?
@titusvillanueva72464 ай бұрын
Hello Sir ! On your 1st relay ( 13:54) , you mentioned the power(line) in of 120 and power ( load) out of 120v, my relay gives me a power in of 120 but only loading out around 25-27v and it the same issue on the 2nd line and load, do you think my relay is bad and needs to be replaced ?
