I was totally mesmerized by this video. I honestly didn't think you could make egg roll wrappers that thin at home without some kind of machine or device. Who would've thought that you could stick two of them together with oil, roll them out, cook them on a pan, and then peel them apart after into two perfectly thin wraps? I agree that it's a lot of work, but I love the satisfaction of knowing that I could totally make these at home myself. You are awesome, I love your videos!

Nice recipe. But I have an addition to add to your egg roll wrappers. My father owned a Chinese restaurant years ago.....and they had the best egg rolls in Connecticut. His secret ingredient was peanut butter in with the dough. It really made the egg roll skins taste different and alot better.

I live in northern Italy and there is only one shop in our city that has them already made. But right now it is dangerous to go in that shop, so I will try this recipe. I appreciate it very much. I see that you live in Ecuador now, and you face the same food challenges I do here in a way. Italians do not make Chinese or any Asian food at home, so products are difficult to find. They don't make Mexican or any South American food, either. This is very sad to me, they are missing out. However, it is a challenge to us to find what we need, or learn how to make it. Your videos are valuable, don''t stop.

Hi :) So i moved to a small town that has hardly any good food. I have had to study and learn how to make everything my family likes lol I love crunchy noodles with my Chinese food. Our closest restaurant charges $1.00 for a tiny bag of crunchy noodles that are almost always stale. Absolutely ridiculous. So I came in search of egg roll wrapper recipe to make my noodles out of.. I made crunchy flat noodles. After the 30 minute resting period. I cut the dough in small sections. took one section out of the wrap and rolled it out enough to fit into my pasta machine. i rolled it from the largest setting to the smallest. the thinness was perfect for my noodles. I then cut them by hand into about 1/2 inch rectangles and fried them up in some avocado oil i had on hand. These were fantastic. Thank you so much for the recipe. Also I noticed that this dough is also the same exact dough i use to make my Polish perogies. Thought that was pretty neat. Thx again. You're a pleasure to learn from

You have humbled me. I’m British by birth and tendencies, but I’ve always loved Chinese cooking. In faction been cooking Chinese, Thai, and Indian for my family since 1979. I’ve studied, and been taught by restaurant chefs in the art of Chinese cooking and have adapted it to the cooking range and facilities I have. I’ve seen skins made before and never tried to make them myself. But I’ve got more time on my hands than before so I might try them. I wonder if a pasta press may make it quicker? Have you tried that ? I’m 60 now so I’m more inclined to take the easy road. The pancake roll skins you buy from Chinese grocery stores is fine but I can remember when they weren’t around. The home made were better xxx

Thank you very much for sharing this phenomenally perfect recipe! My son kept asking, "why are they all called different things when they all look the same to me." To which, I quickly replied with: "..and doesn't salt look the same as sugar?" We had a fun time last night making these! Tonight, we'll be trying the store bought wrappers, for him to be able to see the difference (the ONLY thing he'll ever eat from Chinese take out, IS egg rolls/spring rolls! So he's already had "the perfectly made", for quite some time) I'd really like to know how to make those rice paper wrappers, (solely as an experiment for them to see how it's done) so I can get his little brother into something that he doesn't just shrug his shoulders at me and run back outside after I ask'em if he wants to help brother make something. I don't FORCE my kids to do things.. (I know what that feels like, so) PLUS- other parents don't quite comprehend how that "paying attention" part of their own child's subjective reality & subconscious mind, you CANT/WONT "MAKE them pay attention"... Instead, I patiently watch, listen & observe the types of things they run to each other showing one another, then I'll do something similar or ask if they'd like to help ME do it, too?! I rarely EVER get a "no" from either of them. My kids also, aren't allowed to just "do what they want, for however long they want, on tablets/social media either." [Especially if it's this platform, their "KZbin accounts", are restricted to those who ACTUALLY teach things show things, give value, create educational content that I- have approved AND 'vetted'.] A helpful takeaway for others, would be to have a "tablet time" together, while consciously observing/listening every once in a while, to what they are watching/who they are watching. This has helped me to be able to narrow down that nonsense, "burning-brain-cells" crap like things like that "Jeffy" circus or watching other kids who are streaming themselves watching other people open boxes, toys, playing video games, etc. Those "Family Channels", (MOST of them anyways) are so completely out of touch with what REAL reality, IS and it's sadly "setting kids up for failure- from the jump". The more devastating thing, is that these parents don't even realize the "failure" that they're "emphasizing", by being selfish, entitled or self-centered in ways that disregard & throw their own "give a hell" in regards to what their kids futures will look like. ...but, to each their own. Each parent, WILL [#PsychologicallySpeakingIn2022] most definitely "HAVE TO" #LearnTheLessonTheHardWay either way, whether they "like" the "causational suffering" that they have caused themselves, or not. *NOTE:* NO Parent, anywhere, has been "handed a play book". However, that said- the "do as your told, not as I do" phrase, is being blown out of proportion & twisted to "bend the youth" to continue to: - feed, enable & condone (..which, lead both directly & indirectly to) - allowing, accepting, normalizing, justifying ..then, rationalizing the already "#InstitutionallyBiased/#InstitutionallyInvested" but "been broken/obsolete ideologies" alongside those who have the most to lose- IF these younger generations, "dont or won't '#KeepRepeatingInsanity'."

This fascinates me. I just lately came across the "yudane" method for making bread, using boiling water poured over flour. My wrappers always are too hard when they come out of the oil. I'd wondered if the water trick would work, and here we are. The stacked circles with oil, then rolling makes very thin shells. An excellent idea. 🙂 And just so you know: 0.7 ounces = 19.8 grams (a little easier to weigh 20 grams on a scale). Thank you!

I make them with a thinner more fluid dough and make thin sheets like pancakes or "crepes". However I only fry the sheets very quick and not so high temperature so that they do not change colour. Maybe they do not get the same "crispyness" which motivates me to try your method. Awesome!

Obviously you know this version - but in the US and EU this is called Spring Roll batter - Egg Roll.batter is different (uses egg) - and an egg roll is much larger than a puny spring roll - thicker with shredded cabbage, Chinese celery, carrot, and spices sometimes pieces pork or shrimp.- and you want the bubbles on an egg roll.
