BASIC scrap quilt - make an easy quilt with scraps and strips

Today I am making the MOST BASIC scrap quilt. Strips of flannel and an alternate square to keep everything cohesive.

This is adorable! I would call this the Joyful Take-a-Break quilt. Sometimes, I pick a pattern that looks good on paper, but there are way too many pieces and I'm relieved when it's finished. I like to make an easy one after that. This is perfect for a break. Thanks!

So much fun! I never thought of using my scraps this way. I quilt for charity most of the time and always have scraps. My favorite saying is "today's scraps, tomorrow's quilt" and now I have a wonderful new way to use the scraps. Happy New year and thank you for all you do!

I tend to like more of a planned scrappy quilt and by adding the same fabric squares alternating with your scrap blocks is a great way to do that. Again, thank you for another great tutorial. Can you tell that I am binge watching now that I found you!?!

Thank you for another inspiring, yet relaxing, video! I have some off-cuts from strip sets that are waiting to be used, and this just might be the project for them. Some of them were cut at a 45-degree angle, so there will be a good deal more wonkiness but I am okay with that. You are teaching me not to overthink my scrap choices--yours always come out looking beautiful even without agonizing the way I tend to! 🙂

So pretty! Thanks for your patterns and inspiration. I use most of my flannel scraps to make washcloths. But this would be a good way to use up little scraps. My daughter loves the flannel washcloths for her 2 children, and herself. When my daughter and son-in-law started trying for a baby, I bought flannel for blankets and diapers. And hemmed or zig-zagged many scraps for washcloths. This will be great to use smaller scraps. Waste not! Thank you

There is genius in the simplicity of this. The pieced blocks can be as scrappy as anything but the green floral as consistent alternating blocks holds it all together and stops it all from being a hot mess. This is a lesson I needed to learn. Thank you!😻
