This video tutorial saved my sock! I had purchased a pattern that either didn’t explain the heel turn well enough or was faulty, so I was stuck after knitting the leg. I’m so grateful for your tutorial and also the link to the sock calculator! This morning I finished the second sock, they have both been washed and blocked and are drying on a towel. Can’t wait to wear them in the cold weather we’ve been having. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your terrific tutorial.

This is a great video. I started my first sock a few years ago with my neighbour teaching me. That heel was very scary as she walked me through it. I moved away before I got to the toe .... then it sat in my knitting box. I pulled it out today because I hate keeping unfinished projects. Before I saw this video I thought I’m going to have to find a one legged person to give it to because I didn’t think I would be able to do the 2nd sock by myself. But I am totally encouraged to finish sock one and carry on to start and complete sock #2 after seeing this video. Thank you.

I wish I could post a picture of my sock. Lol I have been a knitter for years but never tackled socks. My spouse gave me the strangest look when I told him it was on my bucket list. I bought a bunch of sock knitting books and decided on the pattern “Road to Oslo” from a Nancy Bush book. Although it was a different pattern, when I started the heel flap, turning, etc. I needed a little extra help. Your videos made my sock a success. Thank You! 😁

Thank you sooooo much for your amazing videos, I have found yours by far the easiest to follow & to say I'm ridiculously pleased with my little self having just completed my very very first ever sock (complete with your easy to do Kitchener stitch) is an understatement. I was gifted a book & some sparkly blue wool at Christmas & I put off making a start until I'd read the book, faffed about, cast on & made a real pigs ear out of my first few rows, pulled it all out & almost gave in..............then I followed your videos & yippeeeee, I am now the oh so proud owner of my first sock. Guess who will be casting on for its matching little number this evening. I wish to admit.....I think I am an addict in the making, I already have several new balls of wool for more socks after this. I somehow don't think I'm alone huh?? xxxx

Jana, your sure a fantastic teacher. I'm a visual learner so I replay each step several time. I like how you explain how's and why's you do things. I picked up one more stitch on the gusset. I missed how you can fix that. Can you explain that for me.Thanks so much!
@PurlTogether4 жыл бұрын
When you're alternating your decrease round with a plain round for the gusset decreases, just do an extra decrease on the side with the extra one, to get back down to your original cast on number of stitches. Then carry on with knitting the foot. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and subscribing!

I really enjoyed your teaching of making socks, I have been making socks for a few years now but really like the magic loop! What size is the needles and yarn, please? Thank you so very much!!
@PurlTogether2 жыл бұрын
What size yarn and needles depend upon the fabric you'd like to create. Most people prefer smaller diameter needles and yarn for socks, so they're not too bulky. Fingering weight yarn and anywhere from 2.0mm - 2.75mm needles. (US 0-2) The size of needles will depend your individual tension and style of knitting. I would suggest that you check out my more recent, updated tutorial here kzbin.info/aero/PLNWbWGGFfxXnClP7lljZNuMDlqXIDttie
