Great apple windfall. I don’t peel my apples for apple sauce just quarter them. After cooking I run the sauce through the shredding plate of the food processor.

You two - such a treat all month - Merry Cracklin’ Christmas to you both. Happy Holidays to your families ~ I can’t imagine how much work the month takes for you both to do this for all of us - but selfishly hoping it continues. ❤

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the best Season’s Greetings! Cracklin Oat Bran is AMAZING! It does look a tiny bit like dog food, but tastes incredible. Sitting here in between cooking and wrapping for afternoon gathering seaming a Marie Wallin cowl as a gift for my sister-in-law. Aiming to cast on another Frame Your Face Cowl later today. Enjoy everyone!

Merry Christmas! This was a nice way to spend my morning at the hotel before heading out for the day. I am in VT and my sister in law has so many apples from her tree. We had applesauce at Thanksgiving and will have more today. I will need to ask her about apple cider vinegar and apple butter. With the apples that drop and are bruised, they bring them to a local bear sanctuary where bears are rehabbed. Some are orphaned and some are hurt. So many apples, enjoy!

My chicken keeping friends say No Apple Seeds for chickens. (Cyanide). We make 5 gal hootch from wild apples every year. Yum. I hereby admit that I understood the 2025 color to be Moca Moose and only just figured out that it’s probably Moca Mousse. (I had been working with local dyer’s yarn from Monk and Moose Fiber Co - my excuse). Merry Christmas! Pancakes and sausage breakfast here. Thank you!!

I am up early too, baking bread for dinner later, muffins for part of breakfast. Thinking about those apples, and goats... what I have done at applesauce time is dehydrate some of the apple cores for goat treats.

I’ve made many of these clogs and one trick I found to make the sole thicker is to -instead of holding the yarn double- knit one strand using Navajo Ply, which makes it three strands of yarn instead of two.

Love your videos! Janna, I've had many years of navigating holidays with future in-laws, in-laws, exes who have custody of the children on holidays....it's heart breaking at first. But then you get pragmatic, and roll with it. You learn to be grateful for the time you have with them, and if it doesn't coincide with the actual holiday, that's ok. Just means you can put your feet up and not cook! lol. Trust me.

So very true! Sometimes it's best to just go with the flow. Since it's nearly 50 degrees F. today, Will wanted to go golfing. I walked along and hunted for lost balls. Scored a bunch today! Like an Easter Egg Hunt on Christmas day.

So a question on yarn types. I'm not a huge fan of wool, it always feels so rough to me. I'm planning to use either some super soft bamboo yarn or some 100% cotton, (not mercerized) and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts, advice, red flags to wave, anything. Also, if anyone is wondering I plan to do a mismatched set of socks. That's typically 4 or 6 socks that have similar colors and similar patterns so they can go together, but are not identical and so are considered "mismatched." They are my favorite! 😊😊
@PurlTogether12 сағат бұрын
Cotton won't have the same memory as wool and will stretch out pretty badly. I haven't worked with bamboo enough to say, but I'd check out some bamboo yarn on Ravelry, then look at the projects and comments. Happy knitting!

The cats have started their investigations of paper, boxes, and ribbons. Your knitting projects look wonderful! Anne, I'd been guessing a tea cozy for a while, but you'd need an awfully tall teapot at this point! Jana, I'm behind on my stripes, but it's okay; a delay in the gift matters not. Happy 24th!
