Awesome recipe!! I am without a kitchenaid so I mixed it the old fashioned way! I used your exact recipe and then kneaded it until it was smooth and stretchy, about 5 to 8 mins (if anyone wants to try it) I made sweet rolls and they were absolutely delicious 😋🙏🏻 This recipe is a keeper!!!

If I want to make sweet buns with this dough, how many medium sized buns could be made & at what temp & for how long should those get baked?
@SoworthitSomakeit4 жыл бұрын
I think you should look at a recipe for those particular buns. :) This is just a base recipe, and can be used for anything asking for a sweet yeast dough. Find a recipe you like, add whatever goodies to it you like, and bake as instructed. :)

No, this dough is more appropriate for things like cinnamon rolls. Pie crust is much different, and contains no yeast.

Can you make this without the egg?
@SoworthitSomakeit5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't. Eggs play a vital role in baking and doughs. The importance of eggs ranges from moisture content, to how the structure of the dough in question comes out after baking. If you can't have eggs, then I think you should look for recipes that are specifically formulated to be egg free. Those recipes will have substituted appropriately for the absence of the eggs. :)

Can you use salted butter and just take out the salt?
@SoworthitSomakeit5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't. You can't control the amount of salt that is in the butter, so it is better to use unsalted butter, and add the amount of salt called for in a recipe. After you've made the recipe a few times, then you can experiment with the amount of salt, because you'll have a baseline taste from the previous times you made the recipe. Hope that helps!

What kind of flower
@SoworthitSomakeit6 жыл бұрын
All purpose flour is best. Do not use self rising flour, as it contains a leavener.
@toyota86316 жыл бұрын
Soworthit Somakeit thank you i used all purpose flour. I tried making this but screwed up somewhere. maybe because I'm in a humid climate thailand. My dough was like paste really watery. any insite on what I did wrong I used active dry yeast and the dough had risen within an hour. Thanks for your time.
@SoworthitSomakeit6 жыл бұрын
@@toyota8631 it sounds like you either had too much water, or not enough flour. In humid climates, more flour is required, because the flour in your cupboard will actually hang on to some humidity. You'll just need to add more flour until it comes together, don't worry! As far as rising time goes, that is largely dependent on the warmth and humidity of your environment. If it rises to the correct bulk, usually double in size, in 30 minutes, then you're ready to go! Sometimes it takes longer- it just depends on your environment. Hope that helps! don't give up! Keep trying, you'll get it ;D

is there a way to use no yeast?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!?
@SoworthitSomakeit8 жыл бұрын
+Molly Donovan Unfortunately, no. There is no suitable substitute for yeast in this type of bread dough. Yeast is what's known as a biological leavener, while baking soda and baking powder are common chemical leaveners (air is the mechanical kind of leavener used in egg foam type cakes, and would not apply here). The chemical leaveners are used in quick breads (like banana bread) and act quickly to produce rise. This sweet yeast dough needs time to rise, and baking soda/powder would just not produce the fluffy end product you desire- they would produce air quickly, but then the effect would fade away. Yeast continue to produce their gas until the product reaches temperature in the oven, the yeast are then killed by the heat, but by that time they have done their job and given you the product you were looking for. I'm afraid leaving it out, or trying to substitute something else will leave your product very flat. I hope that helped! Have fun baking! :D
