JSN- MADE, Liked your box and the way you presented it's build. I like making boxes as well. Never thought of using a pivot pin for the lid, interesting. I subscribed to your work. Sorry I just came across your channel. I know you posted it in November of 17, here we are a year later. Good work. John in Pensacola

Nice job, subbed. Found you through the post on. r/woodworking subreddit you made. Keep up the good work! It's hard to find people with knowledge of both Videography and Woodworking...

Nice box. I’ve personally never had good luck with rabbits. I prefer miters with splines. I would love to learn and become proficient in dovetails also.

Thanks for making this. I like the swivel lid you made. I caught a glimpse of the can of Tung Oil which you used. It would have been helpful for you to mention the type of oil you used and why.

made mine today, quarter sawn white oak with a walnut bottom. Thanks. now I need to figure out how to do the pin without a doweling jig.
@jsn-made47005 жыл бұрын
Depending on the tools you have available, you could make one. Square up a 2x4, drill a hole on one edge in the center of it's thickness the same size as the pin and then drill a 3/4" hole on an adjacent face inline with the first hole. Lastly, cut a groove on the bottom so the new jig will rest over the top edge of the box. as long as the hole for the pin is plumb and centered in the thickness of the back side, you'll be good to go.

Nice box. Question - why did you glue the bottom in?

Very nice job, JSN-MADE. Let me tell one thing: It´s interesting when you use the word "Project" to build up a wooden box. In my country, "Project" means a much more complex process of thinking, planning, creating and finally to build in order to obtain the final product. It´s a matter of concept, I think. But, anyway, I like your Valet box very much. Congratulations. Hugs from Brazil.

I forgot to ask what the purpose of the pipe attached to your left is doing. It appears to be a pony clamp.

except for the audio at the beginning and end, this was a great video (but such a minor thing). Showing off the joinery was such a smart touch. If you're still making videos try maybe doing a close-up of the joinery too.

Good Morning: I enjoyed the video and and you for taking the time. The negative comments remind me of another video by folks that spend way to much time on the wrong side of the bible. There is a saying, "different strokes for different folks". Perhaps those of a negative way should show us a better way. Again, thanks and as some has said it looks like a great shop. Perhaps you would share the size of you work bench. Tom
