Fun additional scary facts about giants. Storm giants: whenever they are nearing the end of their life and don't wanna die, they go full druid and become an immortal living storm, surround whatever place they do this shit in for the rest of time until they are slain. How do you kill a literal living storm? No idea. Hill giants: oh yea if one of them gets so sick that they keep throwing up, they actually lock the giant away and starve them until he gets better. This leads to most the time rampage as remember food is a hill giants religion literally. Frost giants: Ever wonder what some storm giants do to bulk up and become chieftain? Well one forbidden and taboo way is to go abandon Thyrm as your lord and savior, worship troll god, go out and slay a troll, then consume its carcass to gain its regenerative powers. The fucked thing here is that they may develop vestigial body parts such as extra heads, a tail, arms, legs, nipples, etc etc due to frost giants biology not suppose to be like a troll. When they are finally figure out they are thrown out the clan because weakness reasons and they just wander around fucking up everything in pure rage. Stone giants: my favorite fucking thing about stone giants is canonically they are overpowered as fuck. You know how they call the world outside their cave "Land of dreams" and shit? Well stone giants are lucid dreamers. Translation: they literally start to bend reality, the laws of nature, gravity, etc etc if they spend long enough outside their underground cave home. To them the world is literally a dream, meaning to them that they can do whatever they want so normally its common to see a chaotic fuck off stone giant turning a boat into a war ship and chucking that bitch at an adventuring group for the lolz.

Giants are really old, in that they date back to near the beginning of this world's "turning," the latest of the grand cycles, from before which even the gods don't have memory for they're born out of the cycle. Aboleths however are older than every turning of every cycle put together, they engineered the first races which gave birth to the first divine beings, of which giants are a subset. Giant memory is incredibly old but even to them, aboleth consciousness is unthinkable, and if one were to look inside the mind of an aboleth and see the true age of the universe, even a giant would go insane

Just saw this pop back in my feed. A while ago I watched this video and it inspire a concept for a 5e campaign. It's been going on since, and it's one of my proudest works in terms of story telling, world building, and overall fun at the table. So ya, thanks :)

Goliaths: they are like giants, but worse in almost every way that isn't "fitting through an average door" this is why I homebrewed my Goliath to be Frost & more like a giant.
