I just had a somewhat scary thought, before the super apexs came out, there was a quest called "Those Crowned Apex" where you fight 3 apex monsters, there is a chance that after all the super apexs are released, we will get an enhanced version of "Those Crowned Apex" with the super versions instead, probably being called "Those Crowned Apex Emergency"

She won't oneshot you if you collect spiribirds beforehand. Took her down without carting once on my first run (using Underworld petalace, so Stamina > Health), cause of em! She still does a lot of damage, but it's definitely not a oneshot with the spiribirds.

You can backhop out of the riposte animation instead of doing any attack. And it's a much safer bet to assume that she'll do a second straight flip instead of trying to punish the first one-- you can always just punish the landing move.

If it helps she only does it when she is angry. By having fire on her mouth. Otherwise it will do a single spin. As for apex she always does it twice after the first enrage and being angry changes only the swinging pattern.

One gripe about Rathian is that even though you cut it's tail off, is that she retains her poison capabilities. I've had many hunts where we cut off the tail and still managed to get poisoned by her somersault and swipes

By lore rathian poisons you with her blood, thats how she can do it with a cut off tail. It was off putting she couldnt do it in world afger so many titles being the esrablished rule that makes the attack hitbox way smaller and thats it. Rather than disable her one tool to poison you.

@@Reialine I have never heard the lore mention her poison you with her blood at all. I’m pretty sure she poisons you with her spikes that can be found on several parts of her body. It would make sense that the spikes would be the thing to poison you as apex Rathian literally lays them on the map for you to run into and poison yourself. Additionally how can she poison you with her blood without her tail being cut? Also Rathian spike description from MHGU: “Needle-like hair found on a Rathian's back and wings. They contain poison.”

It took me numerous tries, but I managed to overcome Super Apex Rathian (albeit after two carts) with a team of randoms online. It helps a lot to have experience fighting the Deviants from MHGU, since she reuses much of Dreadqueen Rathian's arsenal (frequent tail flips, poison crystals). She does, however, have one other trick - like Dreadking, she won't fall from flash bombs when enraged until you break her wings.

@@FFFlame tbh I had more trouble with the super apex Azuros, since that took me 3 tries whilst I got the Rathian first try with only 1 faint. But that might be because my armor stat is so low I get one shotted by both anyways (even at max def and hp spiribirds), so poison doesn’t really bother me.

You want to know something sad the only monster that I can remember that has not gone that many changes have stayed roughly the same and has not got any improvements is rathian even though she was the very first Monster to be designed I really hoping in the next game they at least do something with her because she has stayed the same for far too long I'm also only talkin about base rathian

@@isaacm7934 well Rathian has gone through some changes, but not the best, from MHFU where she was pretty much harder than rathalos, in all their versions, she was nerfed to death in 3u, gaining that status of "introduction to big wyverns" until Pinkie came out and was basicaly a scam as the monster was a 10k money quest (literally 200 more than ice barroth) but was WAAAYYY harder than most of the other monsters, same in 4U but then World came out and reinforced that status of "training monster" no triple fireball, backflip extremely predictable, pretty slow and forgiving, same with Pinkie wich is not that much harder... all of this being comfirmed in lore where New World Rathian are said to be weaker than Old World one (source : Dive into MHW) So yeah she has gone through some changes but not the best as I said 😅
