Trak Racer is another fantastic option especially if you’re in North America. I picked up a TR80 lite and used the shifter mount to create an infinitely adjustable pedal deck for 450ish USD

Have had GT1-Evo for almost 3 years. I would highly recommend. I customized it a bit to mount a SC2 Pro. Sprint pedals mount easily right to plate. Super sturdy.

Hey what modifications did you do, doesn’t it just mount with a front mount adapter?
@kevin_m
@kevin_m 10 ай бұрын
@@SpartanA31xx originally was using a t300 with the SimLab “flat plate” attachment but when moved to SC2 wanted wheelbase more sturdy and “lower”. So I mounted the SC2 bracket I used to the top 500mm crossbar instead. I’ve considered ordering the front mount but I’m happy enough with my “hack”. :) With extrusion you can really get creative.

The Asetek Pedals are new to the market. SimLab can’t change its manufacturing everytime someone releases a new product. The thing is. Drilling a couple of holes isn’t a big deal and kinda standard and even expected when using high end gear. Here’s what I’d do. I’d order a couple pieces of aluminum profile from SimLab already cut to the size I need. Bolt them to the pedal plate then bolt the pedals to the profile. It would be more like the P1X. I bought a GT1 EVO back in 2019. Then upgraded to a P1X in late 2020. I had zero experience with aluminum profile coming from a cheap GTOmega Pro nor am I a DIY kinda person. I’ve done some pretty cool stuff with both my chassis in the diy realm. Theres almost always multiple ways to solve a problem when it comes to mounting stuff to a aluminum profile chassis.

Ref. pedals - surely you can just drill new holes in the pedal plate so that they fit? rather than buying a whole new rig? Other than that - nice review Ollie.

You absolutely can but I’m not sure where exactly you’d need to try and if it’s already close to a hole already it might not be strong enough. Plus I’m not great with DIY so wouldn’t want to mess it up

Use a piece of paper to mark the bolt holes on your pedals, the lay the paper on the stand mark the holes and drill.. very simple
@trevorbye6965
@trevorbye6965 2 жыл бұрын
just to add this in case anyone wants to drill through their pedal plate (I have a GT1 and have drilled through it twice for different pedals). you will need a decent quality hand drill with the torque turned up (mine is a 20v) and decent quality drill bits. and make sure your batteries are fully charged because this is a THICK steel plate. other than that you just need to mark and drill, it may take a while to get through depending on how strong your drill is. I wouldn’t worry about structural integrity having to drill and mount pedals into this plate. it is absolutely rock solid. I currently have Simtrecs ProPedal GT pedals mounting directly on the pedal plate right now. This brake has a 200kg load cell and literally nothing moves.

Hi Ollie, looks good and not a bad price either. If it is now your rig and you do not have to give it back then drill holes in the pedal plate to match the Aseteks, you should only neeed to drill 2 front holes once the back is in position> If you are up to it convert th epedal plate to use aluminium profiles across the pedal deck.

Very worth considering if outside of EU. Simlab is literally the only store that does international shipping on cockpits. Buying a cockpit locally would've been twice as expensive. Shipping from the NL all the way to Mexico was way WAY cheaper than any 8020 rig I could find here.

From the SimLab website: "Due to Brexit, the prices you're paying are with 0% VAT. Please expect to pay import duties upon the delivery." So did you not have to pay an extra 20% VAT on the stated price upon delivery? 🤔

If you’re in the US, RigMetal is another good company. That’s where I bought mine from. Annoyingly it’s the G29 pedals that don’t fit, go figure. So they’re attached with only 2 bolts until I can get a better set of pedals.

Made my own plan for a cockpit, with all parts included for it was 320€, got it in 4 days. And got an very nice car seat, with tons of adjustability for 50€. So i spend 370€ for an arguably better suited cockpit for my needs, for less then half of that gt1. Would suggest everyone does the same. If someone needs the plans, just hit me up.

I have the exact same set up as you Ollie, same wheel and base too. I think the GT1 EVO is the perfect compromise of quality and value if you're looking to take simracing a bit more seriously. It's obviously not cheap, but as I was upgrading from a Playseat Evo it was worth every penny. The quality and rigidity is a world apart. Screw Brexit import duties though.
