For the ECU map it is generally correct, except for the Porsche, where fastest ECU maps are 5, 6, 7,8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 in that order. For every other car, 1 is the most powerful engine map.

@@PowerQ Just so you know, your statement isn't really true. Every car is different and some (like McLaren) have an emergency ECU that uses loads of fuel with no performance difference, its and ''engine cooling mode''; I think its ECU 7. Also, most cars have a ''pace car'' mode as well. www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/ecu-maps-implementation.54472/

Regarding the ECU MAPS.. it depends on a car, what mode a number has. For example Porsche's fastest map is 8.. You have a really good chart and description on ACC forums. It explains every car's ECU and Mapping. Also one thing to note, always start adjusting the splitter, and then the wing. Most cars on aggressive setup you don't have to change the wing. Also, brake bias, always keep in mind where the engine is in the car, and set the bias accordingly. TBH all this stuff is kinda hard to explain, so props for making it kinda easy for people. PS: Hot Lap always resets you tires, so setting up a car should always be done in practice. And remember, each track, car, weather, temp... all depends on how you set the car up. There is a channel on KZbin called Aris.Drives, and he's a dev at Kunos. He had a very detailed stream on Brands Hatch... about setups, physics, weather.. You wouldn't believe the amount of detail in physics and weather that this game has.. Anyway.. i'm just here to hear i'm a beautiful baby boy, that's all. Cheers.

Thanks so much for the awesome feedback! I had to research a lot for this video as I am also kind of a noob when it comes to setting up cars. I tried to make as simple as possible for anyone to understand. I came across the ecu map chart, but I think I should've read it better because most cars had ecu map 1 as the fastest and the higher number were fuel saving maps. So I just assumed it was the case for all of them Thanks for teaching me some things at least and I'll check out Aris' videos very soon!

@@PowerQ To be fair, i think only the Porsche has it set on 8 as the fastest. Every other car, MAP 1 is the fastest. For dry that is. Every car has it's own wet MAP also.. Explaining setups is a pain in the ass! You really have to have engineering 101 down to make the most of it.. But this is the best quick video about how to start setting up a car so keep it up. Love these videos man! Always watch them with my coffee;)

What's the better ACC forum to go to? Also, I drive the Porsche 991.2 and I always start with lowering the front, the back, then bump up my wing. I've never adjusted the splitter...so you're saying it's better to adjust the splitter first?

I really appreciate this series and especially this vid! I am going to start sim racing this winter and have been researching on how to improve myself. I have always felt confident in my driving braking ability but my car setups and tuning have left something to be desired. Typically, I run more oversteery builds and with my aggressive drive style, I tend to be less consistent . I know I can find a couple tenths in my times and be able to race harder, longer. Thanks to this vid!

Loving these vids. They have helped me immensely. Where I am confused about is what do all the things that happen within a race are...ie; yellow flags, blue flags, how and when to alter drivers, and leaving the pits and why at times one gets another warning before leaving the pits, even when going the pit limiter... just wish there was a manual for racing and or assetto corsa comp to read... :). But still pushing through forums and vids...just wish there was one file or vid etc. Even a PDF perhaps. ;) but your vids do help for sure... keep up the great work.

As for aero tips. If your driving a rear engine car, mclaren 720 is terrible for it, also Porse or nsx ect, if aero balance is over around 7 or 8 % fron if will lose control as a hobby mid corner. Try reducing this to around a 3-5% bias. Thank me later.

Thanks for this informative video, especially for noobs like me. One question: what setting affects the tire temp? I raced 2 days ago and despite the pressure being in range, the tires were still blue in some parts even by the end of a 90 min race. Any clue? And tire wear, how is it represented? I saw a score in the garage, of 3 but don’t know the range. And can we see a marker while driving? Tks
@PowerQ
@PowerQ 3 жыл бұрын
The tire pressure is affected by the psi you set while setting up, the track temp, and how hard you drive on them i.e. tires that are on the outside while going through a corner get a lot warmer than the tires on the inside. You can also close your brake ducts to keep more heat in the brakes and tires, or open them up if they get too hot

I basically use the agressive setup with few changes in tyre pression in the 16.8 lap and 18 degrees. I tried to increase the tyres pression in the higher temperatures but isn't work. If you can help me, please, take a look in my lap at spa, please. Thank you!

it's basically a percentage of the braking force going to the front wheels. Eg, 60% brake bias means the front wheels are using 60% of the total braking force. ideally you want the brake bias set more towards the front of the car so don't lock the rears and spin 😅 hope this helps

I have a question. I've spectated a rain race at hungaroring. You can imagine the mess. Mixed class, as well. In any case, all the people I was able to spectate used the first fuel map. I'm talking rain where the only indications of a car in front of you are a dot on the map and a plume of spray further obstructing the view. Is there something to using the most aggressive fuel map in this situation? Or, is it probably why they all spun at least twice?

I highly disagree with the "change 1 variable at a time" method. In some cases, changing 2 or more things simultaneously will enable each change to work better. If they were changed alone, the effect would not have occurred. Similar to lighting a match by itself, nothing happens, pour some gas out by itself, nothing happens, but do them both together.... and you have romain grosjean

I see your point, but before you can make effective change, you gotta know what the impact will be, which might be hard for people who are new to changing setups
