Don’t exaggerate by saying they are all love !!! Their top is empty. 1947 the conflict was between Hindus and Muslims but the Sikhs jumped in between and the amount of Muslim blood they shed in Punjab was unprecedented. The number of people killed in Punjab were not killed in whole of India. We need to keep record straight.

I agree with you Mir Saheb. Kalyan Singh Jee looks educated, so I am taking advantage sharing some factual thoughts with him, and many others. Religion supposed to be from our Ceator ( Wahe Guru Jee / Sat Sri Akal ./ Rab / Allah ), and Allah is not throwing or tossing Religions every where to humanity to pick what ever you want. Religion is user provides User Manual to Humans, how to spend our life ( given by ahe Guru), in this world ( also created by Wahe Guru), and to prepare for next life after death ( Again owner of that life and place is Wahe Guru). Wahe Guru provided that Religion from very beginning, that means, our father Prophet Adam (pbuh), and mother Eve came with Islam. Islam means simply, submitting our own will to the will of our Creator ( Allah ). Person who submit own will to the will of our Creator is called Muslim. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), did not bring any new Religion, or new Faith, he is Last and Final Messenger and Prophet of Allah for the guidance ( Religion completed with Prophet hood of Prophet Muhammed, and Book revealed to Prophet Muhammed). All Prophets and Messengers are Muslims, with same basic Message, submit to our Creator, worship only Him, and obey His commands, and teachings He prescribed in Scriptures through His Prophets and Messengers ( From Adam to Muhammed, peace and blessings on all of them). If you see and realize with open mind, open heart, Baba Guru Nanak also adopted Islam, and he went to Kaabah, Makkah. No non Muslim is allowed to enter the vicinity of Kaabah Makkah, unless, he or she lie, and pretend fake Muslim to enter, Kaabah Makkah ( It is commanded in Quran, and since then no non Muslim can enter ). I do not consider Baba Guru Nanak, as liar or cheater, but a Muslim. In Janam Sakhi of Baba Guru Nanak Jee, it is also reported many places, Baba Guru Nanak praised Prophet Muhammed, as Prophet.

Very frank discussion.... Only i think in the place of searching similarities, we can learn to respect our differences. Castist idendity is in muslims and shikhs as well. Islam didn't come with sufi silsila it came earlier. The khalsa was established to defend Dharma. I read that "shikh" is derived from shishya. I read the history of punjab and Sikhism and found not much love between shikh gurus and muslims... Its a sensitive topic...the truth could b difficult to digest to many. U have been circumspect... but very good effort. Keep up the good work.

In 1947, during population migration/exchange, East-bound trains from west Punjabi were not allowed to stop or off-load in East Punjabi. Most of the migrants (Sikhs)were pushed deeper into India. Hindu (Punjabi) from India were given All the Muslim lands and properties. Hence, ,Indian Hindus (Punjabi) are in majority in Punjabi and they further divided Punjab ( and Sikhs). (Now they are trying the same in Kashmir). Is it true?

Good to know that you invited a sikh phd scholar to tell about sikhi but still there are a lot inaccuracies in what he told about gurus , particularly guru gobind singh ji . The history of sikhs is very sensitive and should be thoroughly and carefully studied through old sikh historical scriptures rather than studying theough modern researches before telling to others . Puratan granths especially suraj parkash granth, twaarikh guru khalsa , panth parkash actually contain real history of gurus while modern sources are just infiltrated . Today generation of sikhs has left reading puratan ( old) sources . Thats why a lot of inaccuracies got narrated in telling history about gurus .

Declare the glory of one name only for none other is an associate with me. Nanak proclaims the word of God that came to him, thou hast been granted the rank of Sheikh, so thou shouldst abolish the worship of gods and goddesses and the old Hindu idol - temples. The fundamental article of the Islamic faith, the Kalima, has been given the greatest stress in Janam Sakhi. A few Shaloks (verses) from this Sakhi read: I have repeated one Kalima, there is none other. Those who repeat the Kalima and are not devoid of the faith, shall not be burned on fire. Repeat the Holy Kalima of the Prophet, it shall cleanse thee of all sins. By repeating the Kalima, the punishment of this world, as well as the next is averted. Whoever repeats the Kalima, how shall he be punished? the merit of repeating the Kalima is that a person is cleansed of his sins. In Bala's Janam Sakhi, we also read that during his pilgrimage to Mecca, Baba Nanak met Qazi Rukn-ud-Din, the Imam and had long conversations with him. It is reported that Nanak said, 0: Rukn-ud-Din, it is written in the Book (i.e., the Quran) that those who drink wine or 'Bhang' shall be punished on the Day of Judgment.

"Halaal" is a muslim term, not sikh term but they do eat mutton and beaf. Its like asking they why dont they do zakaat. But they have the concept of charity. Smoking is not something specific to Muslim. Both religions avoid alcohol. There is a clear concept of Parda in Sikhism. Burkha is not islamic thing, Hijaab is (which has differnet interpretations) Sikhism has nothing to do with keeping long hair. As he said, its a tradition. Not essential. Like muslims keep long hair but its not essential. Even Islam encourages only ONE marriage. We dont bow to Mecca. Both religions bow to Allah/Wah e Guru. Cercumcision is a culture, not something islamic. (quite offensive statement but do reaearch before abusing) We also marry within Muslim community. There are so many things other than this but think a zillion times before promoting chaos where we only talking about love and peace. Respect for you as well. PEACE.

There are all sorts of religious beliefs in Punjabis: Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Christians. They used to live beside each other, but Punjabi elite and clergy divided them during independence movement. Nevertheless, its good to see that they are opening conversation doors, and hopefully one day they eliminate hatred. P.S: Islam hasn’t adapted nazar niaz concept from Sikh’s langar. Islam always encourages to serve food during religious activities, for instance, Prophet Muhammad served food for three days who attended his first invitation.

Wahdat ul Wajood is not pantheism (everything is God,) which is a Hindu concept WuW is closer to panentheism (God is everywhere and even betond time-space. WuW is based in Inna Lillah w Inna Ilaihi Rajioon (we come from God and goes back to God). We all exist in Udum (knowledge of God), come into Wajood, and then go back to being just in Udum. This was from Ibn Arabi a thousand years ago in Spain, much before Sikhism.

Kalyan Singh Jee looks educated, so I am taking advantage sharing some factual thoughts with him, and many others. Religion supposed to be from our Ceator ( Wahe Guru Jee / Sat Sri Akal ./ Rab / Allah ), and Allah is not throwing or tossing Religions every where to humanity to pick what ever you want. Religion is user provides User Manual to Humans, how to spend our life ( given by ahe Guru), in this world ( also created by Wahe Guru), and to prepare for next life after death ( Again owner of that life and place is Wahe Guru). Wahe Guru provided that Religion from very beginning, that means, our father Prophet Adam (pbuh), and mother Eve came with Islam. Islam means simply, submitting our own will to the will of our Creator ( Allah ). Person who submit own will to the will of our Creator is called Muslim. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), did not bring any new Religion, or new Faith, he is Last and Final Messenger and Prophet of Allah for the guidance ( Religion completed with Prophet hood of Prophet Muhammed, and Book revealed to Prophet Muhammed). All Prophets and Messengers are Muslims, with same basic Message, submit to our Creator, worship only Him, and obey His commands, and teachings He prescribed in Scriptures through His Prophets and Messengers ( From Adam to Muhammed, peace and blessings on all of them). If you see and realize with open mind, open heart, Baba Guru Nanak also adopted Islam, and he went to Kaabah, Makkah. No non Muslim is allowed to enter the vicinity of Kaabah Makkah, unless, he or she lie, and pretend fake Muslim to enter, Kaabah Makkah ( It is commanded in Quran, and since then no non Muslim can enter ). I do not consider Baba Guru Nanak, as liar or cheater, but a Muslim. In Janam Sakhi of Baba Guru Nanak Jee, it is also reported many places, Baba Guru Nanak praised Prophet Muhammed, as Prophet.

Brother I do not talk in clouds, I try to read and study Scriptures. Now it is more easier to investigate. On page 134 of Janam Sakhi, we read, The Quran is divided into thirty sections, proclaim thou, this Quran in the four corners of this world. Declare the glory of one name only for none other is an associate with me. Nanak proclaims the word of God that came to him, thou hast been granted the rank of Sheikh, so thou shouldst abolish the worship of gods and goddesses and the old Hindu idol - temples. The fundamental article of the Islamic faith, the Kalima, has been given the greatest stress in Janam Sakhi. A few Shaloks (verses) from this Sakhi read: I have repeated one Kalima, there is none other. Those who repeat the Kalima and are not devoid of the faith, shall not be burned on fire. Repeat the Holy Kalima of the Prophet, it shall cleanse thee of all sins. By repeating the Kalima, the punishment of this world, as well as the next is averted. Whoever repeats the Kalima, how shall he be punished? the merit of repeating the Kalima is that a person is cleansed of his sins. In Bala's Janam Sakhi, we also read that during his pilgrimage to Mecca, Baba Nanak met Qazi Rukn-ud-Din, the Imam and had long conversations with him. It is reported that Nanak said, 0: Rukn-ud-Din, it is written in the Book (i.e., the Quran) that those who drink wine or 'Bhang' shall be punished on the Day of Judgment.
