Күн бұрын

During Feb 2015, the Basics of SIkhi team was in Canada for a Parchar tour at Gurdwaras and Universities. During Street Parchar the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, we spoke to this lady who studied Cognitive Neuroscience and she loved what Guruji says about the Mind. Most people in science are this way. Most of the arrogant aggressively vocal atheists have nothing to do with science. Science persons know better, and they want to learn and improve. Almost like the best MMA fighters are humble whereas the weak drunks are aggressive.

I work at a warehouse moving trailers around. We have a number of Sikh drivers come in, I learned the Sikh greeting Sat Sri Akal Gi. You'd be surprised at how friendly these people are. I don't look like the kind of person who would greet a Sikh with their greeting. Seriously thinking of converting.

Fun Fact Paaji, Sat Sri Akaal actually means God is the Truth. And the Ji is a sign of respect, like I called you paaji at the start of my comment, paa or pra or bhai means brother and ji is a term for respect, almost like Mr or Miss etc in the English language

Im happy for you brother, its touching to hear people appreciate your religion. I believe you might already have, but if you haven't you should start reading sikh history. Its the most beautiful, mesmerizing experience filled with emotion. And because sikhism is relatively young our history is proven to be true by a variety of sources. You will find the true attributes of sikhs and sikhism in our history. Good luck brother and have a good day ❤️

How did God make the sound if there was no space or time in which to make it?
@vjagpal
@vjagpal 7 жыл бұрын
Good point, but keep in mind sound itself is not a thing. In reality sound is a pressure wave of molecules. Some sort of pressure wave must have been created at big bang and Om may have been seen as sound representation of such wave. Not the same thing but we have seen gravitational waves converted into sound in recent experiments.
@johnhuckley1843
@johnhuckley1843 7 жыл бұрын
There weren't any molecules at the beginning of the universe. It's commonly believed that space was filled with high density energy, and then after the initial inflation period, there were elementary particles and a quark-gluon plasma. Some scientists have theorized how sound waves could have been present in the early universe, but they describe them as endless bells ringing and not as a singular low frequency sound like an "Om".
@vjagpal
@vjagpal 7 жыл бұрын
John Huckley Completely agree with you. There were no molecules at the start. But that is why I gave example of gravitational waves that do not need a specific type of mater to move, just space /time. I also know it is not the same. Also calling initial sound was OM is more of an interpretation (just as sound is brains interpretation of molecular pressure wave). So I accept the different interpretation of a scientific vs spiritual way. But thing is fore sure, that interpretation of om is actually considered to be continuous phenomenon, not just one time in the start. In spiritual words it is called a form of unstuck sound (non-material). I know there is some stretch of imagination needed here but that is why it called faith not science.

Please elaborate on which points you found it confusing. It goes without saying its rude to call anyones beliefs as irrelevant without even understanding them.

These Sikhs who were the biggest enemies of the British army in India. History teaches us The Second Anglo-Sikh War was a military conflict between the Sikhs and the British that took place in 1848 and 1849. It resulted in the subjugation of all of the Sikh Empire, and the annexation of the Punjab, by the British army in India. The Sikh's were the one the 1st people to carry out terrorist attacks on the British.

The terrorists are maybe the British occupying countries which didn't belong to them, no taking of life is right whether it is British or another. Sadly British occupation was wrong that is a fact
