The thing about Maharaj Ranjit Singh was about building Hazoor Sahib was like a challenge by the British as they said if your such a great Sikh of the Guru then why haven't you created a commemoration where he passed away. He knew the bachan of Guru Maharaj if anyone made anything in where her left his physical body then their family and linage will not exist. This is why there are not descendants of Ranjit Singh. It was later on made in to a takht. None of the Gurus wanted a memorial of the place they left their physical body, as it would become like a tombstone, where people could come and workship it like graves, which is against Khalsa rehit.

Well it's not anybody who we worship. We don't worship because of flesh or so anything the guru touches is satkaryog. We say chaur sahib, palki sahib, etc etc
