I learned about Sikhi this week, and now here i am. I shed tears during parts of this and several other of your videos. It woke something up inside me that i legitimately thought was dead. I considered converting, but I'm not willing to give up weed (yet). I recently started praying again, because i got over my pride. I hadn't done it in a decade. Many of the Sikhi tenants you describe, rang true to my own. Protection, honour, equality, peace, compassion, honesty, these are all things that are very important to me. Your message is just and your cause is righteous. I've never used words of such gravity in a more sincere manner than I am now, nor have I felt compelled to do so until now. Godspeed.

+TrueTreeRadio Thanks ji, its great to hear that Sikhi resonates with you. Its all Gurus message and we are just the lowly messengers. Prayer is very important. I used to do weed myself before and it is very alluring. However when we meditate and realise that we can experience that Bliss and much more inside for free then we wont want to pollute our lungs and mind, rather go for the true bliss. Keep watching and learning and like our fb page to stay up to date on our activity. I always ask people this, if you believe in a cause and message, why not follow it and further it rather than let your mind hold you back. Vaheguru

Basics of Sikhi I stopped smoking cigarettes and my body felt much better. I was getting very sick, after i stopped i got bronchitis for 6 months and almost died. I only vape weed now so there's no smoke. I know it puts me in a stupor and it's a waste of time. I did it at first to have fun with friends and to have fun woth life, but it feels like it's not so fun anymore. I once meditated, before I ever smoked weed, and i went somewhere, it was like i entered into a dream. It was very strange, and felt real. I saw a large tree, so tall that it went past the clouds into the sky. An owl lead me to the tree, and a wolf protected me as i walked. It was very strange. I want to go back there. It took 2 hours of silent eyes closed meditation before this happened.

Sikh means Learner, I considered myself a Sikh my entire life and only recently gave up weed, I was a huge stoner, but if you meant converting as in becoming a Khalsa then I understand, however you can still learn Sikhi as you drop your bad habits, Ik and from personally they sometimes take time, but Sikhi was one of the main reasons why I stopped

In my opinion weed can be a gateway to spiritual practices. But after some-time , you realise marijuana is clouding your inner mirror day by day. If you are spiritual and you smoke weed , there will come a time in your life when you'll feel that the spirituality itself is more addictive than the weed , and then you quit. Just talking about my own experiences here. It may vary from person to person. But the call will always come from within.

I'm a HIndu. But I believe every Hindu should learn about Sikhi. There are 2 instances in my life where I truly felt the touch of God. First, while volunteering with an NGO to provide free education to underprivileged children , and second when I visited Sri Harmandar Sahib ji in Amritsar and sat in the langar to have food at the same place with thousands of people. It gave me a sense of oneness that is unexplainable in words.

Guru Granth Sahib Ji states: "The Langar - the Kitchen of the Guru's Shabad has been opened, and its supplies never run short." Panna 966 The Langar/Free Kitchen is an instituion and a message from The Gurus e.g. Guru Granth Sahib Ji, explicitly stated within Sikhs/Khalsa holy scripture. The Sikh Gurudwaras give free food - Langar (free kitchen) in every Gurudwara in the world, today on a 24/7 basis, all day and night, currently serving around 6-8 million meals per day, too all races/cultures/caste/gender/religions. Also, free shelter, in the Golden Temple and Gurdwaras around India especially, so serving humanity across the world : )

@sikhkhalsa2922
@sikhkhalsa2922 8 жыл бұрын
True bro, you are truly blessed and yes there is no caste/class within Sikhi / Khalsa panth, The Gurus explicitly rejected caste/varna system, as we are ultimately human-beings, when one becomes Sikh/Khalsa they get rid of these labels. "Recognize the Lord's Light (Spirit) within all, and do not consider social class or status; there are no classes or castes (varnas) in the world hereafter" (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 349). A Black / Brown / White coloured skin person can become a Sikh, a Jatt can become a Sikh, a Khatri can become a Sikh, a Brahmin can become a Sikh, a Chamar can become a Sikh, a Tharkan can become a Sikh, a low-class / middle-class / upper-class member of society can become a Sikh and if pleasing to The Creator can achieve enlightenment / mukti - liberation. Basically, it does not matter what a person cultural background is, once a person is a Sikh they get rid of the caste/class system and become Khalsa/pure.

Brother, caste is not part of hinduism as well. It is varna and not caste in english sense. Even varna is not based on birth. Krishna in gita says there are 4 Varna depending on nature and action of individual. But sadly hindus don't follow it as bhagavad Gita preaches. Same for mazhabi sikhs who are so called low caste sikhs , sikhism does not have it but so called original panjabi sikhs call converted low caste sikhs as mazhabi sikhs.

I must say Guru nanak ji was a very compassionate man.. Equality is the only way to peace :)

+Shashank Srivastava Indeed brother, it is in equal, injustice of humanity. The Varna system (four Varnas) is part of the Hinduism. Sikhi is the only religion from the Indian subcontinent to explicitly say no, or renounce the Varna/Caste/Class system. The four doors of the Golden Temple was to show that anyone from any religion/caste/varna/gender/colour/race is welcome. 'Recognize the Lord's Light (Spirit) within all, and do not consider social class or status; there are no classes or castes in the world hereafter' (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 349).

I was enjoying learning about Sikhi until I found out about they also practice elements of a caste system. Irregardless of the fact that the Guru did not advocate for caste, Punjab Sikh's have this cultural practice. My experience is that most religions can't shake cultural practices from creeping in. Sad.

+Prabhinder Sahni God is knowledge and the langar was about knowledge. The elite in India were very rich and had access to the knowledge of the outside world. This was a good way for everyone to sit together and share a meal and also knowledge, so you have a more informed, productive, strong, and educated civilization. The knowledge today is with the educated hardworking young people and sadly the shameless, uneducated, religious fanatics for money and power have made it about "tables and chairs".

Waheguru. Whether you believe or disbelieve, on both sides you will just have a fancyful story. For the Gurus, Gursikhs, Saints, and Realized beings they have a living experience of the Oneness for themselves. Clearly one can see that this body is just an accumulation of food and that the mind is an accumulation of impressions. What we truly are, What is truly immortal in us, is the Oneness(or God that is more commonly used but doesn't completely capture the description of the Oneness), the Oneness that is all pervading, all doing, all achieving, all experiencing. Sikhi is about connecting with that Oneness, which is immortal, and transcending your limited nature which is subject to time.

When religions in this world are a reason to war and all the fighting going on then why wear any religion on your sleeve? If the whole point is transcendence then why say i am sikh and why sikhs are different? You can be enlightened, have truth in your heart and still go on waking up people but for the sake of a religion - it seems like a particular religion is more important than the whole of humanity and God.

@TheSkibidiRizzler-k7f 8 жыл бұрын
Navjot Singh One can take the path but making it a religious path rather than a spiritual path is what i don't agree with. It is easy to say that we are choosing the path towards almighty but you are also accepting the religious jargon that comes with any religion including sikhism. No exceptions!
@birikharoud87
@birikharoud87 3 жыл бұрын
If you read the Sikh scriptures than you must understand that Sikhism says that you don’t need a religion to believe in Lord. But if you need to walk on the path towards lord than you must need a guidance like Sidharth Gautam did to achieve the truth. He went through so many guidances. So sikhism is beautiful and universal. No Sikh Guru ever forced anyone to become sikh and no sikh ever did a forced conversion of anyone even when they were in power.

10 paths meant to understand to us as Jesus had been already given to us and shown to his action, that is greed, lust, anger, pride and attachment should not have been in human being, but all this you couldn't do by yourself with righteousness even you are been so 100% you are perfect man, many religion would explain to their own way interpretation, but God had breathe into the nostril the breathe of life, and that is called the spirit, you need the spirit to do anything you liked, and this spirit would judged at last the day of our judgement. Beware you wouldn't deceive yourself and miss the God presence in the Heaven.

@@ranyodhsingh1257 Like, he said in this one that God has no religion, so do the humans and at the same time he is against anyone getting married in a Gurudwara other than sikhs. Like if a sikh wants to marry someone from other religion he can't marry in gurudwara but he forgot that all the gurus after guru arjan dev ji married according to anand karaj while they weren't even categorized as sikh religion as guru gobind singh started the religion. This dude who preaches is straight hypocritical. He talks about how no one should eat meat with emotion intent and mix gurbani in the talk with emotions making it feel like gurbani says so while he is just selling his own ideas. For example Guru Nanak said he's a fool who fights whats meat and whats vegetables as both of them have lives and Guru Nanak himself ate a deer in kurkshetra and this dudes tells lies in the name of Gurbani. There are so many other hypocritical things he says and tries to preach which our gurus never even said

I Ask My Hindu Parents (Lol) Who are Those Two Men With Long Beards! They Replied! THEY ARE OUR TEACHERS ! After Coming To The United States of America! I Finally Realise Not All Hindus In Guyana Are Hindus! We Used Many Words of The Sikhs and Hindus Faith Combined! IT'S A RICH COMBINATION! VAHAE GURU!

There are 4 religions originated in Indian subcontinent, they all have same root . They respect each other. Similarly there r 4 religion originated in middle east; Islam, Christianity, Yahoods and zorastian.There are difference among them. Islam says only they r the best , only their followers will go to heaven, all others will go to hell.
