It disheartens me to see people making fun of Mr. Marceaux so much! He is a United States marine and really does deserve respect. I realize that many people here didn't know that but anyone who knowingly makes fun of a soldier really should just think about how many sacrifices they make for their country. Please don't make fun of him.

I don't think that merely because a person enlists in the military, it logically follows that that person is automatically worthy of respect. Even if their motives are purely noble and selfless, that's not the only variable in the respect equation. Now, I do think that, *in principle*, mocking the mentally handicapped is kind of a dick move. That said, did you actually *watch* the ad? Yes, maybe those parties who were responsible for looking out for him were negligent in letting it go this far and for not preventing him from participating in this endeavour. However, what's done is done, and if *this* political advertisement isn't entirely deserving of ridicule in the highest degree, *nothing* is.
