Basilisk Artillery Tank: Warhammer 40K In Lore and On the Tabletop

Welcome back to “In Universe and on the Tabletop”. Today we’ll be looking at the Basilisk, the main artillery vehicle of the Imperial Guard. Basilisks can provide indirect fire support for frontline troops from miles behind the frontline but can also level their gun barrels and shoot directly at enemy troop formations, vehicles, or fortifications. Enemies of the Imperium quickly learn to fear its powerful Earthshaker cannon, a fittingly named weapon that can tear apart enemy tanks with a single shot.
What are these unique vehicles and how do they perform in Warhammer 40,000?

Till this day I still play Dawn of War almost exclusively as the Guard. My friends hate me for it on multiplayer because they know the moment I have basilisks on the field nowhere is safe for them >:)

Sure the individual guardman is weak but noone else can earthshaker round the other 7 races into extinction without line-of-sight on their headquarter in soulstorm
