They're talking about basketball... If you watched these videos and except for terminology.... What did you learn??
@1JamesHunter

You can't make basketball complicated... Period. These "concepts" are fundamental, basic, what you learn as a small child. These guys are just using terminology as the "wisdom "... Believe me. Their were more plays in older generations. The game has evolved to less plays and allow the player to have "freedom" to figure it out, with their own talents.

@@twist7533 perhaps, but at the same time LeBron and JJ probably deserve to be considered baskeball professors with how much they studied the game. One of the dopest things about this is how JJ humanizes Bron a little more, I like how he’s like dude, you watch your shit man 😂, and you see things online just like we all do, It’s okay. Most of what we get to see about Bron are all the super human athletic feats he accomplishes and breaking records every other game. It’s easy to forget that at the same time, he’s a dude having a human experience like everyone else.

Yup. Whenever pro athletes are allowed to just talk about the game itself, they become just like you and me - two coworkers talking about work and opening up about their frustrations, their oops and "IMO this is the best way to do it" opinions. The personalities naturally come through. The NBA media space is so much about turning the sport into Reality TV that this opportunity is like breathing oxygen for the first time to them.

honestly, I'd have used the letter "D" instead of O's so the kids can really avoid being confused and used O for offense. so D and O's instead of X and O's. and I'd be writing D1, D2, D3, etc to denote which defender, and O1, O2, O3 etc. to denote which offensive player.

@@chemicalhap in the NBA, who was using a 5 out / stretch 5 prior to Spo w/ Bosh at the 5? Dirk under Rick Carlisle at spurts but they have Chandler or Dampier on the low black baseline (dunker spot) probably in 85% of their lineups. D'Antoni's Suns utilized Amare around the nail but he was never a 3pt shooter so they had space & pace but not w/ the corner 3's like Spo had Bosh sniping from the weak side.

the editing in of clips and terms even after JJ explained them at the top helps us rubes keep up without having to hit the back button a few times to hear it again. I admit now I've had the wrong impression of Lebron for years. Seems everything he does on the court is to win, with the clock running or after the whistle it's not straight-up unadulterated ego, it all serves a purpose. I didn't realize how many head-games are going on all at once for 4 quarters. I mean, mf'ers go off and do wild shit occasionally but the amount of games decided by a couple plays one way or the other makes all the little pieces essential, even sometimes pulling comedy faces arguing with refs on some straight forward call. (Kyle Lowry, former Raptor, is one of my favs in this arena) 😆

Like so many folks have said, this is the best basketball podcast out there. This is a reminder of when you were in the gym as a kid, barely able to even get the ball to a regulation rim. Trying to understand the rules, the tactics, the strategy of the game. The effort, the complexity, the beauty, that made you love it. You guys clearly love it, in the same way. The way they emphasized the sacrifices that spacing bigs like Chris Bosh had made to revolutionize the game, and their basketball IQs to make plays (like Draymond), is genuinely astonishing. The sacrifices and IQ of spacing bigs, or super role players who compliment the team perfectly, are so often overlooked during this era where everyone thrives for the “bag” in 1v1 basketball. Just like Luka emphasized in JJ’podcast that better players are actually better at games of 5v5, not the “bag”. Credit to Bron and JJ for making this podcast so genuine and wholesome. This show just warms my soul.
