It's interesting that the line "What the hand, dare seize the fire?" shows up in this one. It's from another poem by William Blake "The Tyger" and it has a lot to do with the idea of God's creations being both good and evil and even insinuating that God was playing with fire by creating terrifying creatures like the tiger. Two lines from the first stanza also stick out to me. "What immortal hand or eye, / Could frame thy fearful symmetry?" Something that I noticed a lot in this series so far is that some of the more malevolent, mysterious, and paranormal portraits are facing the viewer and appear at least close to symmetrical. The Lamb is also referenced in the poem as contrast to the tiger, so there's another point to examine. There's probably more to it than just that, but I'm not an expert on William Blake by any stretch of the imagination.
@randomuser3714 ай бұрын
The homeless guy/Avatar also quotes the Tyger! "Did he who make the Lamb, make thee?"

interestingly enough William Blake was also IRL a spiritual alchemist and the Lamb refers to the Lambspring, an alchemical text while the Tyger embodies the crucible--- the lamb is the instruction but the suffering necessary to achieve the state of the lamb is in the tyger.

Now she's LOCKED into a world so much deeper, and inkier then anything her mind could fathom... at least for now, until a character like Sybil fully awakens. In the world of Mage an artist is probably the scariest kind. For they have the vision, and desire, to fully make whatever it is that's in their mind. 1:10:26 So I did a quick-and-dirty calculation, just to gauge how severely Craig got struck. An average basketball used in the NBA (and, I presume, in any other semi-professional basketball court) weighs about 0.6 kg (or 22 ounces) and is about 0.75 cm (29.5") in circumference, which can then be calculated to 7104 cubic centimeters in volume; it may sound large, but it's only about 7 liters. Out of that volume, 4.75 liters is air, leaving about 2.35 liters of solid matter. Graphite, according to my lookup, has the density of 2.26 grams per cubic centimeter. That means that a basketball-sized hollow sphere of pure graphite would weigh approximately 5.3 kilograms (or 11 pounds), almost NINE times the original weight. Launched with the velocity you'd expect an enraged and doped-up basketball player to throw a basketball with, it's no surprise it reduced Craig to a mangled heap on impact. If we then imagine that Samson's awakening didn't just transmute the ball itself, but the air inside of it too, turning it into a whole sphere of solid graphite, that bumps the mass to whopping 16 kilograms (or 35 pounds), twenty six times the original weight. Now that would be an even scarier projectile, likely to not just break Craig's bones but straight up punch a hole through and/or bisect the poor man with its sheer kinetic force.

Because they're still squishy mortals, but they can turn a vampire into a cinder pile with a spiteful "meet the sun." It doesn't take being able to fight a werewolf when you can deal aggravated damage with a spoken word poem or teleport the Vampire into the middle of the Gobi desert at high noon by slapping them with a tourist roadmap.

So the Sphere of Matter for all the new fans allows a Mage to tamper, alter and change with the building blocks of Reality. Solids, Liquids and Gases. Or Earth, Water and Air if your into the whole Elemental magick shtick. The thing is that Matter Magick mostly deals with inorganic objects and things that *aren't* alive. This Sphere is highly versatile and useful due to how many things you can change! You can turn a coin into a Flashbang with Forces, Entropy to erode or repair inanimate objects and Prime to create something from nothing! Combine Mind and Matter for creating some Telekinesis! At low levels you can identify most substances of what something is made of or sense hidden doors/compartments At mid levels you can transmute matter like an Alchemist or a Transmutation Wizard in DND but the object must be a very close approximation to the original. At high levels you can turn lead to gold, water into wine just transform 1 inorganic object into another inorganic object like turning a radio into a phone. At master levels you can just completely alter inorganic matter by changing its properties from turning a slab of steel into a radioactive alloy, allow bullets to phase through walls or alter the weight of an inorganic object like giving a bowling ball the weight and lift of a feather or giving it the weight of an Abrams Tank.

I'm actually pleased to see Erendil play someone other than Baldric again. Baldric is an amazing, level headed voice of reason, but he's pretty moody. It's been such a long time since War Hams and it must be a breath of fresh air to get to play a fun cocky character

Samson Tuttle is such a real one for smacking his head on the shower railing, part of the quintessential 6'6'' experience
@zcgamerandreacts27624 ай бұрын
This is. Terrifying in terms if the ending Like someone GOT KILLED. ANNIHILATED! Okay sure one of bills friends died but he was more private cause well it was a bunch of men in black and agency. This on the other. This is. PUBLIC! For all to see and be in awe. Samson a killer. Or somewhat. He has Matter manipulation of the sort. So technically he can straight up kill a vampire with a ball OF DEATH
@q-tip99624 ай бұрын
Thats also got me wondering, will Samson be in court next time we see him or what. Because there are multiple people who can confirm that before the ball struck Craig that the basket ball was a basketball, and it was a basketball until it left Samson's hands. Not to mention they can't really figure out a means of turning a basketball into a ball of graphite.

Okay gotta say again under here as a Norfik area resident, y'all are NAILING the location. The fact you have him live out off Campostella tells me volumes about his background, and it lines up perfectly with that complex, often unfortunate relationship with his family. Are you guys even CAPABLE of making something mid, or is it impossible for y'all to not write the most perfect shit since your last release? Like, y'alls understanding of Norfolk is disconcertingly accurate. It feels almost like being doxxed, but instead of terrified for my safety I'm just being embarrassed for the spooky mundane of my boring area. You're writing of Marcus and Kitten's relationship was already so good that my friend and I thought "SOMEBODY at OP has to be queer" and now I'm sitting here like "okay who TF at OP lives amongst us?" Addition: I DIDN'T SEE THE IMAGES YET WHEN I FIRST POSTED THIS Y'ALL ACTUALLY OUT HERE ON THE MAPS GETTING THE STREETVIEW STOP I BEEN DOWN THERE THAT LOOK TOO ACCURATE YOU SPOOKIN ME

I keep replaying these episodes for background noise. I am champing & frothing for more of this! This is one of the better actual play shows I’ve come across. I really appreciate the effort put into the visuals despite there being no camera or set or anything. The audio quality being good from the very beginning is a huge plus in my book. Critical Role and many other actual play shows had horrible audio in the early days. I know it’s probably not impressive considering you guys have been doing voice acting type stuff for so long, but I still really appreciate it.

Honestly want to thank you guys for making this series, so excited to see where it goes and it has come at the perfect time to renew my interest in Mage and really make me see it a whole new light. Also having it take place in the mid-2000s was a brilliant move because it made me realize that Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield is actually the perfect mage theme song, so thanks for that as well!

I've never played a tabletop WoD game, but I grew up playing Hunter the Reckoning: Wayward and VtM. (A ps2 game and a PC game because I realise now those are tabletop systems too) I would try out a tabletop game if the guy running it had SpeakerD's energy, that's for sure. Dude builds scenes with skill but doesn't take it too seriously. it's both hilarious and strangely enthralling.
