True Ogre That was when curry was a rookie lmao. And they didn’t have a good team because the only ones that actually played for most of the season was Corey Maguette and Monta Ellis. And what about in 2013 where curry led the warriors to the same record as Westbrook this year without any all stars? This season has literally proved that Westbrook is overrated. He can only play around a system that revolves him, while curry can play on and off the ball which leads to team success. Oladipo is now a SUPERSTAR that he’s off of the thunder. Domantas Sabonis is now trippling his stats compared to what he had in OKC. Taj Gibson is playing very solid, and so has kanter, and Ilyasova. Prime Westbrook can’t lead a team with Paul George (a superstar) Carmelo Anthony (a 6th man of the year if he played off the bench) Steven Adams (DPOY candidate, best rebounder) André Roberson (who played half the season and is a 1st defense all team player) better than a 24 year old Stephen Curry can lead a team with no all stars
@magnetcheese69636 жыл бұрын
True Ogre 2. Why do you care so much about blocks, dunking, and rebounds, and post game for a point guard? Westbrook’s rebounds come off of seven Adams boxing out. If curry played in the same system Westbrook played in he’d average as many rebounds. In Westbrook’s last season 7 of his rebounds per game were completely uncontested. Curry also lead the league in steals in 2016 so I don’t know why you said he has no steals. The reason curry doesn’t get as many dimes is because they play in a system where he doesn’t constantly have the ball, like the spurs. He’s actually a decent passer, and had a higher assist to turnover ratio than Westbrook, which proves he’s not a bad playmaker. And curry isn’t even the only person to not guard their matchup. He’s actually a decent defender, but would you rather have a decent defender or one of the best on ball defenders covering the scorer? Westbrook is a more capable defender than Curry I admit, but he’s always slacking off on defense. Bballbreakdown made a video on how he’s pretty much the same as James harden when it comes to overall effort. Maybe if Westbrook didn’t run a system that only revolves around him, he’d have more success and play better defense

mzk pride He’d have been putting up numbers close to drummond if he didn’t enthusiastically let russ have all the defensive rebounds enthusiastically. Adams got more offensive boards then defensive boards per game Russ’s last 3 seasons in OKC which is crazy because those are a lot harder to get. He’d have averaged like 13-15 boards a game if you account for all the defensive boards he boxed out for and the let Russ have.

STATS DONT LIE But how is he able to get the fucking rebound when there was only 1.5 seconds for Murray to catch the ball, shoot and for the ball to travel through the air. And even if it missed it most likely would’ve bounced up in the air. I’m not stupid, I’m an OKC fan and I have to say that earlier in the year when we played the Pistons, the last shot of the game when we were down by 1 and Russ went for a 3 when he was 1-9 from 3 that night. That play and the play against the Nuggets are the most stupid things I’ve seen Russ do since the 2012 finals. I know it was a stupid play, I just don’t see how he could’ve possible got the rebound with the time that was left

One of the more interesting points that has shown over time, since the vid was made in 2017 is how Westbrook didn't take advantage of the really good teammates he had. Miraculously two of his starters that were traded became all-stars within two seasons of leaving WESTBROOK!!! Sabonis and Oladipo, and Oladipo was in MVP talks one season til he got hurt!! Westbrook's triple double seasons cheapen the stat & were just a mockery of the sport, it was "natural" and fluid within the game like Oscar.

Here's some other important things to keep in mind about Russ. Russel Westbrook plays some of the worst stay in front defense ever allowing him much more energy on offense just like James Harden does. He purposefully leaves his man wide-open so he can cherry pick rebounds away from his big men. He also gambles horribly for steals just to pad his stats and/or get a flashy dunk. And even if he ends up getting that steal for a break away dunk he has a tendency of bricking them off the back of the iron because he wants to slam the ball with 1 hand as hard as he possibly can instead of laying it up or doing a safer type of dunk. You mentioned his high turnovers, but it's HOW he turns it over that gets me the most. His turnovers are much worse than most other point guards because they are so forced they usually turn into 2 or 3 points on the other end. Some say he would be better as a shooting guard because he simply does not know how to take care of the basketball. The problem with that though is that he isn't a high percentage shooter and prefers shooting off the dribble too much. Lastly, Westbrook's shot choices are probably the worst I have ever seen in my life. He will pull up for 3 in a guys face with 14-18 seconds left on the shot clock even during crunch time and non 2 for 1 situations. He doesn't even look to see if his big men are ready for rebounds before hand. He's often even too fast for his own good to hit easy shots. He loves flying into the lane, but misses wide open layups like crazy because he can't ever learn to pump the brakes. His flops are very over-exaggerated too, which ends up making him take an even harder shot and not getting a call on top of it. It's honestly sad seeing such failed potential... I originally thought his selfish play-style was just a young faze, but I was completely wrong. Apparently he does not want to become a mature basketball player that's truly respected. He only cares about himself and not the fundamentals of winning efficiently as a team.

Very good analysis. Russ Westbrook is so boostful. He should see this report. Because he is thinking his mvp award was deserving. How many OKC players left OKC and become great and mvps? OKC management should release westbrook and let us find out if some teams will be eager to welcome him.

Man I didn't even need stats to know this. Russell westbrook fans are people with low basketball iq, who doesn't know that when you're on the PROFESSIONAL level, its about playing smart, not hard. And westbrook just exudes the kinda vibe of a dude who doesn't think too much but plays his heart out. Basically high physical talent, low IQ.

I would strongly suggest checking over your stats. you make a video basically dissing Russell Westbrook yet some of the stats that you use to say he's not great just aren't right. I noticed this because being a long-time Pistons fan you threw up a stat that had Zeke in it. it was the players who averaged over 11 assists in a season. You had Zeke's 84-85 season at 11.2 per game. that's wrong my friend. he averaged 13.9 per game. may not seem like a big deal but when you make a video predicated on stats you really should make sure all your stats are on point. plus it's easy to go back on a player after the fact look at a stat sheet and say they were bad or good only based on that. The game is measured on much more than that. That's the reason why you will see some players who have been in the league for years yet on paper don't seem great. they bring something that a stat sheet doesn't show.

Totally agree with this. That is why sometimes when some analysts predominantly just refer to stats it’s not enough or could be misleading. Consider other factors that do not show on the stat sheet. Or just simply watching so many games for decades you will have a better grip of the comparisons
@goonsquadgooonsquad76865 ай бұрын
He talks about fg% in comparison to Westbrook's, as if Steven Adams sabonis, Andre, and most of the bench didn't shoot literally at the rim the whole season. Which would mean the their percentages are inflated compared to where Westbrook shoots from all around the court and lowers his efficiency just like every player in the league smh, people are so boneheaded I can't even believe they survived and lived their lives for this long. Basing efficiency just off Westbrook’s FG%, and saying that he’d be better off by letting his teammates shoot because of their higher FG% is not fair. I think Westbrook’s overrated but that just isn’t a good analysis. OKC that year was dead last in 3 point %, and while I do agree it had a lot to do with Westbrook’s poor shooting from distance, he actually shot right around league average that year at 34.5%, which isn’t terrible. They had zero playmakers to take pressure off of Westbrook, and they had zero shooting on the floor to give Westbrook any space to operate. Defenses literally only had to guard Westbrook and his gravity allowed his incompetent teammates look a little better than they are. I agree in general, Westbrook lacks the discipline but you have to provide all contexts of the situation given to the player when you are doing an analysis. Do I think he is overrated? Yes. But even so this video has too many flaws.

I don't mind ppl stating facts...showing proof etc., but all these negatives about Westbrook and here is a big fact you can't avoid....OKC would be done if Westbrook had left...and what team wouldn't IMMEDIATELY get BETTER if Westbrook joined that team? Anybody who rejects that fact is just in blind hate mode. What team would reject Westbrook going there if they thought they could sign him? The problem with picking apart the numbers and the stats is that it really doesn't tell the whole picture.....its only a snap shot....its not the motion picture. EVERYONE is a work in progress and there is room for Westbrook to improve...but I just think ppl have the same ole knee jerk complaints when it comes to Westbrook....this MAN is on BEAST MODE ERRRYNIGHT!!! I never tire of watching him play in OKC despite the scrawny snake leaving to play for the Warriors.

See, every single person that makes an argument for rw talks about how "exciting" he is to watch, highlights don't mean shit if you don't win big games. And you're putting it so lightly, "everyone is a work in progress" that's still no excuse to be selfish and have artificial padded stats, you're acting like the problem is something like a sub par free throw shot, something minor to improve on, NO, Russells issue is his basketball mentality, which is who he is, players dont just randomly entirely change the way they play, you never saw kobe turn into a 13 assists per game type of guy, I mean look at game 6 in the 2016 wcf in the final minutes, he's constantly me me me me me, and before you say "he averages 10 assists per game how is that selfish" lemme remind you kobe is 2nd all time in laker assists, and if you're at the bottom of the league in passing, but near the top in assists, you pass PURELY for the stat, not ball movement, his attitude is why he'll never win a championship, people need to stop thinking overrated=trash, when someone says a player is overrated, they're not calling them smush parker, they're saying this guy is good, but stop acting like he's an untouchable god, because Russell isn't even top 5 in the league rn.
@nodice92275 жыл бұрын
All that shit you said and RW will STILL BE WELCOMED TO ANY TEAM IF HE WERE UP FOR GRABS RIGHT NOW PERIOD. IF RW DID SOME WEAK SHIT LIKE KD DID BY GOING TO THE LOADED TEAM WHO ALREADY HAD A CHAMPIONCHIP HE WOULD HAVE A RING OR TWO AS WELL. I told you...he's a w.i.p. and although you bring up some valid points which are noted all you see is a snapshot....he is EVOLVING and HAS BEEN CHANGING. We can still see KD doing the same old shit he used to do in OKC with GS.. but now that he has two rings oh he's just so great now. Lebron had a game against the Miami heat the other day.....Lakers Blew the Heat out......BRon didn't have to play the 4th qtr.....but he did...and padded the fuck out them stats.....stop demonizing a stat padding like its the fucking unforgivable sin....Westbrook wasn't going to win no ring immediately after KD left with the squad they had so he did the next best thing and became the Triple Double King with a force so great that it made PG re- sign...put some RESPECT on that! And the team looks better in the wake of that bitch ass snake slithering out of OKC as a result of what RUSS did after the snake left ….Oh and by the way....have you noticed our standings lately? Imma tell you this one time.....When the big guy beats the lil guy....its EXPECTED......BUT when the lil guy beats the big guy....its RESPECTED! Russ is that dude...ring or no ring a muh fucka like him makes good players gravitate to him...unlike KD......Remember I told you so.....Russ to Draymond "I told you he was a bitch". What yall are saying about RUSS is like its written in stone.....what you say about him NEVER winning a championship is not a commandment set in stone.....its at best a suggestion... One last thing I want to mention...ppl say RUSS couldn't win a ring even with KD and HARDEN....but in reality....its really KD who couldn't win a ring even with RUSS and HARDEN. But real talk....I really want to see RUSS win it all...and perhaps he will do more of the things you suggest in that video but I like RUSS's rendition of Himself over YOURS....and yes errbody makes mistake...just look at how Draymond handled KD and as a result the warriors are 2 seed and like 4 teams have A .667 TIE to share with GS...INCLUDING OKC!

Task Don Westbrook does have a similar strength & motor as Lebron. His game thrives on drivening & kicking the ball out just like LBJ’s. That’s why they wouldn’t be able to play together. Tom Brady has reached the Super Bowl eight times in 18 years. That is a 44.4 percentage. That is better than Russell Westbrook’s career field goal percentage.
