@eddieharman3650 12 күн бұрын
Its insane that ANYONE EVER tries to debate this. Its only because the NBA picked Lebron as a rookoe to be another Jordan so they could capitalize on him and make money. When that failed they proceded to spin false narratives sbout his abilities and thats why Lebron is even in the GOAT debate at all. No other reason. He actually airballs freethrows. A lot of them. How many GOATs airball freethrows. Its embarrassing. Lebron has literally hit the side of the backboard on more than one occasion when shooting from the baseline .

That's what happens when you can get your shot anytime you want. Also how many times did we see Jordan's teammates not be able to create a shot for the team, then Jordan had to bail them out at the end of the shot clock? Jordan was 1 point away from averaging 40ppg in 6 playoff series. LeStans always say LeBron took 1200 fewer shots to score as many points as Jordan. But by that logic Rudy Gobert is a better scorer than LeBron since it took LeBron 2,000 more shots to score as many points as Gobert. Also Jordan could come back play in 121 more games, not score as single point and still have a higher ppg average than LeBron.

@terrellbaker1660 It Truly Doesn't Rank 7th 🤷🏿‍♂️! All Of LeBron's Numbers Are Misleading. Layups And Dunks, No Effort Rebounds, Weak Ass Rule Changes In The League (Freedom Of Movement...No Hand Checking...The Ability To Carry And Travel) Dilute His Numbers. Combine That With A Player (LeBron) Who Is Extremely Limited In Every Facet Of The Game. Poor FT Shooter For A Ball Dominant Guy. Poor Ball Handler For A Perimeter Player Who Is Ball Dominant. A Poor Shooter (He Has No Jump Shot) Outside Of 3 To 10 Ft For His Career. A Turnover Machine For Someone Who Dominates The Ball. I Don't Have To Delve Into His Inability To Play Off Of The Ball 🤦🏿‍♂️. LeBron Was Merely A Big Athletic Guy Who Plays Basketball. He's Not A "GREAT BASKETBALL PLAYER". His Lack Of Fundamentals And Overall Basketball Ability Are Glaringly Obvious As His Athleticism Has Began To Wane. LeBron Is "GREAT" Because ESPN And The Hype Machine Tells You So. He's The Weakest "Superstar" That Has Ever Been The Face Of Any Professional Sport. He's Simply Not What His Overly Emotional, Delusional, Fragile Ego Fans Have Been Forced To Believe That He Is.

The debate about Lebron being a better passer is even more controversy. The way assists are recorded in the last decades and the way it was during the 80' and 90' isn't the same. So it impact numbers. The gap isn't as close at it seemes to be. And it's also a matter of skills. Why passing more to someone who would convert 40% of his shots if you can score 50% midrange/postplay/and 60 close to the basket ? In fact, MJ was able to create for the others by attracting the defense and giving his teammates good shots, as for Hodges, Paxson, Armstrong and Kerr. But MJ was able to average high number of assists if he wanted to, as when he played point guard or when he challenges Magic during the 1991 finals.

He's not even a top 10 scorer all time either. He is the all time leading scorer, but that is just because of how long and how many games he has played. Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Tracy mc Grady, James harden, Larry Bird, and multiple others id say are better scorers than LeBron. LeBron is an elite scorer for sure, but that's mainly because of his size and athleticism driving to the paint. Just looking at their first 13 full seasons it's clear who is far and away the best scorer and who is a complete fraud. If we look at their actual play on the court and see if they are both cleanly handling the ball and how often one carries the ball and travels in games it's even more clear who is a legit great player and arguably the best scorer ever. Appreciate the objectivity; it's a refreshing deviation from the usual "no bag", "4 and 6 in the Finals" commentary that usually accompanies these arguments for MJ. For me, it's MJ, but it's closer than advertised. MJ's scoring titles - you alluded to this toward the end - were runaways where he'd average 32 and no one else averaged 30, and he's doing this while his team's conpeting for top playoff seeding. High volume and not remarkably efficient, but teams are focused on stopping him and rules at the time made it easier to do so. The case for Bron is, of course, he's more efficient (opponents were keying in on him, too), but also, his one scoring title wasn't an exception proving the rule. If anything, it felt like he was making the point that he could lead the league if he wanted, but was more concerned with making "the right play" like he used to always talk about (FWIW, I feel like his assist title was similarly about making a point). It's not really a reach to suggest that he could've averaged 30 for his career if he upped his per game FGAs. With that said, Bron's not even the best scorer of his generation; that's KD. Rockets Harden had a decent run for a bit, and now Luka's going off. It's pretty clear that it's become easier to score since MJ retired, so that needs to be factored in. Again, I think ultimately it goes back to that--Bron never created distance between himself and his contemporaries like MJ did.

good video. like anyone that actually saw basketball being played before 2000, there is no question in my mind that jordan is the best scorer ever. or at least, so far. (ever is a long time, and we ain't there yet). wilt was more dominant, but nobody, and i mean nobody, had the combination of skills, mentality, physical gifts, IQ and fundamentals that mj had. add to that the fact that he is one of the best defenders ever, plus a leader both on and off the court, and the goat conversation doesn't even make sense. lebron was great, and still can play some. but his lack of fundamentals, lack of actual skills, blatant opportunism, and stupendously weak minded attitude both on and off the court, disqualifies him from any possible goat talk. but again let me be clear: "greatest of all time" cannot possibly be determined when there is still time left. that said, michael jeffrey jordan is unquestionably, in my mind, the greatest basketball player SO FAR. the best i've ever seen, and i've been watching since 1969, a jordan-hating knicks fan.

MJ led the entire league in shot attempts for 10 seasons. That’s how he outscored everyone else. Lebron has never led the league in shot attempts…not once in his 22 season career. In MJ’s 15 year career compared to Lebron’s first 15 years, Jordan shot over 3,000 more shots…so he clearly was a shot chukker. Yet Lebron only has a 3 point career average difference, while Jordan averaged 3 more shot attempts per game. Michael was more skilled by a LONG way. If you were to put LeBron's skills in Michael's body, I bet he's above average. Put Michael's skills in Lebron's body, he'd have 5 points more than MJ every single night in the 90s, 20 more in today's game.

This is such a ridiculous argument in the first place. At no point in time was it a debate on who the greater scorer was between MJ and Kareem just because KAJ had the all time record. But now that it’s lebron this is supposed to be a legitimate argument? 😆

So because he’s made more over his 21 year career does that mean LeBron is also a better 3point shooter than Dirk, Peja , K.Korver, G.Rice, JJ Reddick exc?

I didn't watch the video, did he show LBJ arguing with the ref and not getting back on defense. Then AD makes a great defensive play to bail him out and also get LBJ 2 free points. That happens what, 3-4 times per game now.

Jordan was a better mid range scorer. Lebron is better inside the paint and from 3. Lebron career FGA is 20 while MJ career FGA is 23. That’s potentially 6-9 points Lebron leaving on the floor and MJ only averages 3 more points for his career. Now remove those seasons where that shortened the 3 point line and MJ is shooting under 30% from 3 whereas Bron is shooting 35% on higher volume Inside-Bron Mid Range-MJ Free Throws-MJ 3point-Bron

Jordan is a better scorer, better shooter, better ball handler, better defender, better shot blocker, better stealer of the ball, and more clutch than LeBron. Jordan is just overall a much more skilled basketball player than LeBron. the only parts of LeBron's game that are better than Jordan are passing and rebounding. LeBron is not even close to Jordan in the GOAT debate. it's an argument which LeBron has inserted himself into and the media has created for clicks and views. the gap between Jordan and whoever is 2nd all-time is larger than the gap between whoever is 2nd and whoever is 15th.

Lebron for his career only shoots 37% outside of 3 feet and in the playoffs it's even worse at 31%. This shows that he has no midrange game whatsoever and can't shoot jumpers and that's where Jordan was the best in history. MJ could score 40 just shooting turnarounds and midrange shots all game long. Lebron has just been fortunate to play in an era with no handchecking and no bigs clogging the lane like there were in the 80s and 90s when MJ played. It was much more difficult to score 30 back then than in Lebron's era.

@@tonytonicca7443 He played in a zone-less era of glorified 1 on 1 ball in which he was bigger than his defenders and would just rise up over them. Before you say he would have been as successful with zones- look up what MJ said about zones "If zones were around in the 90's I wouldnt have 6 titles I can tell you that". MJ is the product of a watered down expansion era with no contemporaries or truly historic teams in opposition.
