The story is not over, but there is another part - the one that casts an additional shadow on Moteijunas. In order to transfer the ownership structure of Zalgiris to Jankunas, he opened a new company called UAB Zalgiris. He took ownership Jankunas, but Gazeta obtained documents showing that the Euroleague director still owns a 55 percent stake in the company UAB Zalgiris KLUB, which owns the Zalgirio Arena. You should also consider two other factors. The first one is that the life expenses are much lower in Europe, especially from country to country. For example, a home in Athens would cost just a fraction compared to what K. Nunn would have to spend to buy/rent one in Miami or Los Angeles. The second factor is that, for example, in Panathinaikos, players are taking tax-free money under the table. Working as a waitor in the past in a small city that used to play in the Greek Basketball Championship highest division, one day before the game against Panathinaikos, a former player paid me with a 500€ bank note, and I was amazed. I told him WTF is this since they are extremely rare, and he told me that these are the "black" - tax-free under the table - money from Giannakopoulos (Panathinaikos owner) 😂.
