When Pana team arrived, Fenerbahce fans started to sing "Ergin Ataman, why don't you use doping" it is an ancient thing between him and Fenerbahce fans, over a decade ago when some of his players used doping in Turkish league. So, to anger him, the fans were chanting the same thing, and almost every game they chant this. When Ergin Ataman heard it upon arrival, he said "Fuck Off!" and after that fans started to sing "Fenerbahce fucks anyone no matter who", pointing out the result of the derby result between galatasaray and Fenerbahce 4 days ago (gs 0-1 fb). The fans inside the hotel were tellting hime "Coach please dont do this, please" and Ergin was just yelling around like a bullied kid, typical of him.

I'm a Fener fan that was in the hotel during the incident. If you want to hear what really happened, here it is: Fener team stays in the same hotel and arrived about two hours ago before Panathinaikos. Many Fener fans were there to greet the team with flares and chants. After the team checked into the hotel, some fans stayed to get autographs from the players and take pictures with them. Some families were also staying in the same hotel, so they were checking in at the lobby as well. When Pana bus approached, 10-15 fans outside the hotel started chanting "Ergin Ataman, use doping again". This is a classic slogan that Fener fans use against Ataman, because of his notorious "cathine" scandal back in 2009 against Fener. All 3 randomly selected players of his were found to be using cathine, and they were subsequently punished by the Turkish Federation. Anyways, upon hearing this chant Ergin went bananas and started cussing in Turkish. "Siktirin lan, siktirin gidin lan, hassiktir" which means "go f... yourselves, f... off". Fener fans responded by marching closer to him and chanting "Fenerbahçe siker adamı" which means "Fenerbahce f.... whoever comes in our way". Ergin got scared and started to shout "where is the security, where is the Euroleague etc." and went inside. I should point out that none of the fans had anything to do with Pana players, nobody tried anything, not even against Ergin. He was always at least 5 meters away from the fans. Once he went in, he started his drama as usual and started to scream "they attacked me, in front of the door, where is the police, f... this organization, f... Euroleague". Some Fener families inside the hotel tried to calm him down, but he screamed at them as well and had them kicked out by the security. They were families with small girls. Now I'm hearing that Ergin is claiming to be attacked by the German police as well and had called Turkish president Erdogan and Turkish Foreign Minister. This is his typical drama queen behavior, trying to motivate his team and his fans and tries to create enmity between Fener and Pana fans, that could result in very bad outcomes. Please do not fall into his trap, he is a clown.

First of all, what few Fener fans did was something unacceptable. Very disrespectful to say the least. In the end he is the headcoach of Turkish national team as well. Nobody has such rights to disturb anybody like that, regardless of the person’s position. With these said, in my eyes Ataman used this occasion to turn it to a theatre. He should just walk away but he responded to the guys with swearing. In any circumstance, it’s no good for a sportsman, a coach of Panathinaikos and Turkish national team. I am as a Turk, embarrassed for both those guys and Ataman’s attitudes..There were familes there with kids, they didn’t do anything wrong but Ataman put everyone in the same box there, something very impolite and unfair. Someone can do something wrong against you but this doesn’t give anyone a right to reflect this wrong to innocent people. Two wrongs doesn’t make one right. Ataman is doing these on purpose, we all know this. We all die one day but we will be bringing our souls with us, not the trophies, medals, money, fame etc. He can win many trophies in his life but Ataman is loosing many people’s hearts in Turkey by forgetting he is the coach of the Turkish national team.

There is nothing related with Pana and Galatasaray in this video. During 2008-2009 season Turkish Basketball League Finals Ergin’s team Efes use Cathine as doping in 3rd match. Federation made tests for 2 Efes players and both of them was positive. After that Efes took the series from 0-2 to 4-2. And the “system” in Turkiye covers-up this scandal. Everbody knows that this was not limited with 2 players but was an organization. While he enters the hotel nobody cursed him but shouts to ergin “lets use doping again”. When he hears it, he starts cursing and than play the victim like always. He is not a good person but successful coach for sure. The hate of Fenerbahçe fans for him is not related with his success but his bad behaviours which is not limited with sports. He beats his ex-fiance and harm her sense of hearing. These are facts that everyone can learn from web. Shame on you Mr. Ataman!!!

Typical Ataman provocations. He was the first one to curse. No one is attacking him. He is attacking to Fenerbahce supporters, including women and children, and also cursing at them. Fenerbahce fans are there to take pictures with Fenerbahce team who are in the same hotel. He is cursing at the EuroLeague organization as well. The EuroLeague organization should take necessary actions to normalize this man. Appropriate sanctions should be imposed. Security personnel should also take necessary actions to protect other people from Ergin Ataman.
