I just found out mine is a basque Shepherd as well and everything he says is the dead honest truth the only thing that wasn't mentioned is when there's a lot of children around she tries to herd them too

We adopted a Basque Shepherd from a sad pound in Galicia. He came to us in the Uk such a mess. Luckily we were devoted to help him. In his own time he got used to a house and to us. Our Basque Shepherd is beautiful. His coat like the colours of a fox. His temperment superb. He is friendly to 99% of dogs. He needs loads of exercise & free running. Our dog is so loving and we love him so much. Please can you tell me why our dog has a darkish browny pink nose and not a black one. Mucha gracias

No es pastor vasco o tiene cruce, solo tienen la nariz negra, tiene que tener dos espolones en las patas si solo tiene uno no es de raza, aunque el color de la nariz, también te dice que no es de raza. La raza solo tiene el color del vídeo, más claros u oscuros, en casos excepcionales salen todo negro.👍🏻

In visiting the Basque Country, I’ve seen a lot of border collies. I was told that border collies outperform the basque shepherd for sheep herding. It’s sad but understandable that a shepherd wants the best dog for the job. The basque shepherd is beautiful though.

This is a story of many many other herding (and also hunting) breeds. They are very popular for a long time, but than, they are being replaced by foreign breeds, that are better suited for their purpose. As you said, it makes sense and i guess it is logical.

No le supera, el roblema es que el border Collies no es tan apegado al dueño y los jóvenes caseros no pierden tiempo en sus perros, el pastor vasco al ser tan leal necesita de atención para que no se sienta apartado.👍 Prefiero el pastor vasco, por su lealtad, otros prefieren el border colier por su independencia al dueño. Según la persona te viene bien uno u otro. Los dos hacen su trabajo muy bien. Lo eligen según la convivencia que quieren con el perro👍
