Great video! Been following your restoration for the last few weeks and you are doing an excellent job! When you get her finished up a little handy tip is to keep a bar of lava soap in the bottom of the boat at the stern so when water gets in it will help keep the grease, oils and dirt levels down. The sloshing when driving helps agitate it and when plug is pulled it all comes out. Just what I have done for years and has worked wonders for me on keeping it clean.

Watching the series, our boats are very similar. Nice to know about the tray! Looks like mine has the same fiberglass rub through/separation at the live wells areas; must be a common problem. I installed red/green nav lights in my rub rails today, took about 2 hours taking my time, tapped into the front nav light holder. Looks like from the factory they put all the fish finder transducers inside the hull like on yours. I have one in the middle drain and 3 in the area you're working on here (the old round ones ; one in front bow and one in the dash). I'm shocked at how well Ranger's foam is, no rot or wet areas on mine. I'm going to use farm/tractor enamel paint on the inside areas, you can find it at Tractor Supply, they're all over the Houston area (I'm near Lake Conroe). That paint takes longer to cure, but works great, also use it on my tractors and trucks. Flows thick and lays itself out as it cures; the stuff just sticks much better than Rustoleum. I used silver on my rims, have the same ones as you do on the trailer.

I think you'll want to use a water soluble lubricant like "Astro Glide"... Yes, I said Astro Glide. I've used it on stubborn radiator & heater hoses before & it works great...! And it doesn't contain Petroleum, so it won't kill fish...!

WOW! Thats a great job of cleaning the bilge area!👍🏻 my initial thought was that you were fixin to grab the ole pressure washer! What type of cleaner was in the can? It did a great job👍🏻

Great video! I had just bought the 88 ranger v393 it looks to be the similar setup but my live well fill valves don't seem to be working on the inside. The outside switch and cables are working fine but the valve inside I don't think is turning completely. I noticed you did not replace yours, but I've been having trouble finding this part do you have any suggestions?

This may be a dumb question but, is the aerator pump just another name for livewell pump

Not a dumb question at all!! To be honest i have no clue. I believe aerators just recycle water and pump it in and maybe livewell pumps can also pump water out as well?? I'm sure someone will comment and let us know!

I like your videos; I came across a 1976 Ranger with a 115 hp Mercury inline 6 cylinder yesterday. Of course I bought it. She needs some TLC and restoration but I think it will be worth it. I hear that the 115 hp Mercury 6 cylinder is fast. I hope so. Do you know where I can get parts if needed?

There was no hole. Just was epoxy down.

Livewell shutoff valves i think they are called. They shut the livewells to recirculate
