Tried the Neko rig for the first time today, yesterday now. Fishing a public fishing area in east central GA. First cast tap tap caught one, third cast again. Fifth cast I got hammered, I was so excited I snatched it away from the bass when I set the hook. Caught several more before leaving. This in a place that gets pressure almost every day. Thanks Gene your videos are the best, yes I do watch others but I come back to yours for the how to part. Your video on drop shot showed what I was doing wrong when I tried to rig it up, no body else explains these tips like you do. Thanks man and keep up the GREAT work.

Gene I have to agree with how you rig the hook into the bait more than anyone else I've seen. I feel like just getting the normal o ring or skin hook, the hook point is burying into the bait when setting the hook if they are deep or close to the boat. I was trying to do a sweep hookset until I started rigging them like you do. Now I feel like I can set the hook in either direction with a great hookup percent. Thanks for the great vid!

For shore fishing at reservoirs, what rig in your opinion has the best action for steep ledges were your line may only be resting on the top of it and your bait is coming up it as you retrieve.
@jaredwolf16997 жыл бұрын
Fish Gone Wild you can use anything that will keep the head of the worm down. I used a heavy gauge staple point I clipped off and it was close to the same action.

Lead is just heavier in a smaller package. This makes it so you can get more weight closer to the end of the worm.

I'm confused about how you hook the worm. Since you're burying the hook shank in the worm body, what's the purpose of the o-ring? And I would think you're only going to get one hookup before the hook is torn out of the worm.

Its okay man! Sometimes we all hook a fish a little too deep. At least we know how to get a hook from a fishes throat going through the bottom gill. it has to be done. But as I was saying, we all feel a little bad after doing that. I was throwing a Jig from the bank into some thick lily pads and I guess the fish just hit my line (probably didn't even go after the jig) and I set the hook right into his eyeball. Because when I slid him out of the water, he came off the jig and he was missing his left eye. I felt bad but there was no blood, just worried about an infection. Fish can still catch food with one eye :) Sorry i had to tell someone about this, I really felt bad haha.

I think I have an idea why you use braid abrasion resistant and braid has no memory and also no stretch also you can feel contact with your bait better it's a lot more sensitive then floro or mono cause they both have stretch but the floro leader sinks witch is good and it makes it invisible to the fish as to using straight braid when fishing sketchy fish also the bio spawns are an amazing drop shop bait
