I can't wait for Friday. I'm taking my daughter fishing at the Salt River. I haven't fished since I was a child. Thanks for the salt river tips!

1:44 would you be able to please tell the location? I'm trying to find places to kayak in calm water, I don't fish.

The salt my personal favorite as well. It's hard to pass up.

I'm always fishing by PIR (where the Salt and Gila meet) and love it, but I've always wanted to head over to the eastside and fish the Lower Salt. I guess I'm going to have to make the trip over there. Awesome video by the way.

The salt is full of grass. It dominates my time. About 80 of retrieve is grass. Great river for top water, much less veggies and more control. Also I recommend waiders if wading the water will give you rash under socks around ankles. Not fun.

I was there yesterday and today. Got three bites but no hookups. Man you make it look easy.
@GOALFishing4 жыл бұрын
@Justin a lot of that is the editing 😂 I usually am out for about 5-6 hours to get that 10-15 minutes of good footage. I have days like that too.

Or if there’s any flatheads near the phon d Sutton area? That’s where I plan on heading out too
@GOALFishing3 жыл бұрын
@Johny Eastwood I’ve never seen any or caught any Flatheads out of the lower salt river. I know they are in saguaro lake and canyon lake but I don’t think there’s much of a population in the river
@desertflatheadchaser96233 жыл бұрын
@@GOALFishing thanks for reply. It says online that there is flatheads in the lower salt but it seems unlikely with how shallow all the water looks in yours and other videos. But I have caught them in the gila river all the way down near buckeye Arizona where it is extremely shallow as well. Think they may have just been heading upstream to shallows spawn cause I caught a few flats a couple nights in a row late may and not a bite since.

If you could give me a good spot for Sonoran suckers and trout that would be much appreciated both would be a new species for me and I catch and release only and bait recommendation?
@GOALFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@desertflatheadchaser9623 the numbers of suckers tend to be on the back end of the big pools just before the rapids. There are a few spots by the bridge and down stream from the bridge. That is also where they have stalked the most trout. A lot of people though too. Right by the foxtail administration site is good for suckers. Live worms is what I have caught them on.

@@GOALFishing thank you I looked up foxtrail and foxtrail administration site on google maps and couldn’t find it do you have a specific adress or another waypoint close I can put into GPS?

what parts of the salt are good to fish ? the bridge area is always packed and there is so much grass you can’t run any crankbaits or jerkbaits
@GOALFishing3 жыл бұрын
Iross72 I like to hike a lot of different areas. You have to be willing to hike to different spots. I like a lot of areas between Phon d Sutton and Granite reef. There are some good ones between coons bluff and phon d Sutton as well.

Man where the hell is that part of the river you where walking in?!?
@GOALFishing3 жыл бұрын
@Jacob Trimble that was just down stream from the Goldfield recreation site. It has restrictions for hiking this time of year because of the bald eagles that nest in that area.

Crap man I really need to get out there more to find the spots...
@GOALFishing4 жыл бұрын
@Fastco0311 I do a lot better when I hike and move to find the pockets I like. I rarely stay in one spot for more than 30 minutes. If the fish ain’t biting I ain’t staying. I go find the fish that will.
