I have one of these boats. It is a fabulous small boat. Very well designed. Pontoon design keeps it from skidding and it tracks perfectly. Very stable and comfortable. Even for two. I run a trolling motor on mine. What I love about it is how precise and quiet your approach to spots is. The Bass Baby makes a perfect partner to my full size bass boat for waters that are unapproachable for the bigger boat. Very high value boat for it's price. No regrets ! EXCELLENT review BTW !

I realize this is only a demonstration but If water gets inside the hull to the styrofoam flotation you're screwed Love these small boats but learned the hard way I left the plug in once it was one of those unusual times when a cloud burst comes over needless to say whenever I came home that evening I seen water standing everywhere & I remembered my 10ft boat which was now almost rimfull ! Ugh but a life lesson learned

Gary Jones jon boat has less weight capacity and I don't think a jon boat is as wide. These plastic boats are 4 foot wide. My 10 foot jon boat would only hold 295 pounds. It was roughly 31" wide. The 8 foot plastic boat I'm looking at will hold 550 pounds and is 48" wide.

Regarding the seat tracks, did you put those in? My little pelican bass raider has sliding seats like those except not in a “locked” track. My seats just fall out no matter where they are. I like yours better.

All of these boats need the wheels in the back. I have a pelican predator and the only thing I hate is transporting the thing. I really don't want to by a boat trailor for it because it is double the cost of the boat...

Have you had any dampness inside of either of your pontoons? Somehow water has gotten in mine. I got the water out, but the inside is still damp to touch and the boat seems to be heavier.

I have the same problem. I leave it outdoors all the time and I think the rain is entering the hull through the storage compartments that unscrew (not watertight)

If you like this boat.......for what it is.......you will absolutely love a "Twin Troller X-10". I bought a new Twin Troller X-10 almost 9 months ago, and it is still impressing me. They may look similar to all these other "small plastic pontoon boats", but trust me, there is a world of difference, down to every last detail and overall design. The Twin Troller may seem a little pricey, until ya research everything about it, and better yet, buy one. They actually cost a little less than the newest Hobie Pro Angler kayak, and come factory with 2 built-in hidden & completely protected salt-water grade MotorGuide trolling motors that ya propel and steer with twin foot pedals. Best fishing experience on the water, because ya maneuver the boat without even thinking about it while ya fish at the same time. Toughest hull on the market, ya can't capsize it if ya tried, and it is actually UN-sinkable. It has a true bow & wide gunnel around the front, giving it the driest ride of all the small pontoon boats. Even during high wind or a stiff current, you can hold your boat position with ease and precision. Coupled with a 3.5hp Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard, it's the best damn boat for bass fishing I ever owned actually. And I use to own 2 full size bass boats over the years.

Bass Hunter, Sun Dolphin, Pelican are all sinkable. Sun Dolphin appears hollow inside so it will certainly fill with water (bought a used damaged one). Bass Hunter has foam inside that can become waterlogged (got an 8 footer out back that needs top removed to extract “that now heavy foam”) . Sold my Pelican. Bass Baby is the only of this pontoon type that is unsinkable...because it appears the pontoons are solid or impenetrable construction. The floorboard construction is not hollow & appears “above” the water line. How would it sink? That was my main concern. Now to find time to get back out there. @@tonybridges7377 The Twin Troller is unsinkable, and does NOT have internal flotation foam. You can leave the drain plug out, and only about 4 inches of water will fill the floor of the boat. It's mass/weight is less than water, so it floats naturally. Look it up. And you can't capsize a Twin Troller if you tried while inside or on top of the boat, even standing on the side rail/trays. It also has a flared lip/gunnel around the front that aids in splashing water out and down & away from inside the boat, especially when using an outboard engine. No other small pontoon boat has that. Nor do any others have the same shape at the front as the Twin Troller, which has a more pointed bow FORWARD of the 2 pontoons. Go see the hordes of videos from the company as well as real owners like me. And I didn't even mention the unique & patented twin electric foot controlled propulsion system. Absolutely nothing operates & handles as good as this system for fishing. As the old saying goes: Ya get what ya pay for. I've owned several boats in the past, including 2 bass boats......one I bought brand new back in '04. Paid it off, but had to sell it to save our home during that bad recession. Then I discovered the Twin Troller 4 years ago & bought one. I still have mine & love it more than ever. Caught a bass that weighed exactly 8 lbs according to my Gambler digital scales in it just this past July 4th at the Stick Marsh here in central Florida.

Why ? You may have to wait years to afford a $40,000 bass boat, or $50,000, or $60,000. I have a bass boat, 2 jon boats, 3 kayaks, 1 bass raider.
