Nice. I have that motor, but no telltale. So I wonder where the water stops. Impeller is quite new, so I the water pump should work, but I dont know what to check next. There was telltale approx a year ago, but had a mishap with one sparkplug out to test and there was quite a fireball when I tested the sparkplug (yes I was stupid). I hope I dont have to open the thermostat cover because it's a lot of old screws

I could tell during assembly that the brass barrow nut was on a slight angle while being drawn down indicating a cross thread situation as to why it was so difficult to thread down wards.

I did this to my 2005 F40. Runs amazing now, but it does drink more fuel with the bigger jets.

I have to take photos and everything.. even then, I'm not certain I could put it all back together myself.. sheeeesh!.. I hate getting old.

New impellers only can be purchased on eBay for about $8.00. It is recommended every 2 years to replace this part.

Gheenoe's are awesome! Duck hunted with one for years. 4 horse mercury with integrated tank was perfect for me. If you make too tight a turn the back corner will dive under the water. Don't ask how I know. Also, careful with the strap over it. You can bend the gunnel.

Fantastic little boat - a buddy of mine had one very similar to it when we were teens. I think his was only 18 hp but it still seem to go really well. I know it’s a long time after you posted and you probably discovered if there are any issues with that modified transom, but have a real good look at what the previous owner did, make sure that was mounted properly.
