Excellent song choice and bass cover here, brother! I love Paul Raven's sound and tone during this era of 'Fire Dances', '1000 Suns' and of course, 'Night Time'. i remember seeing the video for the song and wanting to get my hands on a Status Empathy bass so bad. I also remember seeing Tears For Fears' Curt Smith with one and since then, I have loved those basses. Hopefully someday I can get my hands on one if I come across it. Sadly, I never got to see KJ live and that really bums me out, especially with the tragic news of Kevin Walker's passing. Without him, to me, KJ is no longer KJ. I remember being very down when I heard of Paul Raven's passing and now with Geordie's, I truly feel that this was the final "nail in the coffin" for KJ. To me, without Geordie or Jaz, KJ just doesn't exist. They are both irreplaceable. It's depressing to see how so many of my musical heroes are now passing on with more and more frequency. I understand that they are all getting older and older but, I guess when I listen to the music and with music being timeless, I still have this mental image of my heroes, still in their prime and when one of them passes away, it suddenly jolts me back into reality. The music is timeless but, unfortunately, the human body is not. Gotta do all we can while we're still able and around to do so. It's one of the reasons I have started playing again and your videos have helped me get my motivation back so, many thanks to you brother... 👍👌✌️ Paul Raven, Kevin 'Geordie' Walker R.I.P....

First: Ive never trusted tabs. I find alot more incorrect.. than correct. I play by ear. Learn songs by ear...peep Live versions. And sometimes check with tabs. But all the Love Like Blood bass tabs ive seen are wrong. For one, most of the tabs arent D tuned (not drop D). And the common mistake (to my ears)... all the tabs ive come across go from F D G in the verse. Im certain its: F C# G. Besides myself, youre the only person ive seen play it F C# G. Not sure how you learned it. But props for being correct. Subbed!!! Cheers!

Thank you! I rely solely on my ear. I used to check tabs when I played guitar in my early teens, but abandoned tabs to make an attempt to read. However, my ear kept getting in the way of my reading, so I decided to put all of my faith in my ear. This playthrough isn't perfect but just like you, I studied Paul Raven's live performances, as well as the video, to see where his hands were to confirm the hypothesis from my ear.

Just discovered your channel. Super underrated stuff! What’s the story with that Precision? Looks like a 64-67 logo but that black with black pickguard make it super unique aesthetically. It also sounds huge!

Thank you! The precision was presented to me as a 66 but I have yet to accurately confirm what year it really is. I took it to a guy 20 years ago who said that I was lied to because the neck is a 1962. The plate on the back of the neck indicates early 70s, but he also says it's way too lightweight for that to be the case, so it's been dubbed the "Frankenbass". I haven't looked any deeper into it. Part of me wants to know but I also like the mystery behind it. Greg Edwards of Failure, plays the fretless twin of my bass. My wife had to do a double take when we saw them live recently.
