I still so confused about how Ranbir’s character was romanticised at all. He gets called a demon at every point in the film. I understand criticism like they did stretch a lot of unwanted parts in the movie and could’ve given more screen time to bobby and Anil-Ranbir dynamic. But sticking to the template of wanting movies about Negative characters always moping with sad background music and a lot of self introspection also gets boring. They stylised his character, but it’s very evident from the end that Ranbir’s comeuppance is coming.

Maybe, but atleast don't celebrate a negative character which SRV always does, make it realistic like Kashyap maybe. He's gonna lose his dad whom he loves so much, his wife has left him along with his children(not sure), his brothers are being killed by the butcher, his health has deteriorated, etc. But he's has just 2 moments of victory - his dad recognising his love and his kid running up to him in the end(not sure). @22:22 Hey @Jaby, continuing on this point, do you also like how jinx was portrayed in arcane, though she finally decided to be jinx in the end. Is it similar, I mean, was she a bad girl that you can still respect her and the story?

See the thing is death or incarceration isn’t the thing that will make him feel remorse. Throughout the movie he feels no fear for his life or fear of law either. Just like the punishment for Michael Corleone was isolation, so is the case for Ranbir’s character in the movie. He is claiming to do it all for his family and if they alienate him in the end, what use were his actions?

HRIDAYAM. HRIDAYAM. HRIDAYAM ….means “heartl ….should react to it
@iman.k83169 ай бұрын
Just because his character didn’t die at the end doesn’t mean it was glorified, for a character like his, I felt that a bigger punishment than death was living without what he wanted all his life, which was his father’s love, and he never got that at the end, even after killing hundreds of people and causing so much chaos, he was left with nothing.

There is series of movies named, "'Student of the year" by Karan and his team, if that's one kind of nonsensical movie which got fan base, actors, filmmakers justifying it, so is the other side of the spectrum in Animal or Thank you for coming or Archies kind of movies and it's fan base, actors, and director's team go on patronizing their mediocre work as best, art etc and those won't follow the same marketing collateral are against "ART of film" or "Don't understand film" as such. Same thing this Fighter movie director, Siddharth was saying, "Those who haven't traveled in planes won't get his film". Even Jawan movie director Atlee was saying Hollywood wants to make films with him, and Jawan is one of the best film they saw, he was trumpeting. It's just such a comedy. Ranbir, whole cast in this interview were doing the same, so are their fan base in every comment section about it's film and everywhere. Even Karan, Rohit Shetty, Sandeep, Siddharth Anand, Zoya, Atlee, many filmmakers in each and every industry do this. Recently Rani Mukherjee too was saying, India makes the best films in the whole world 😀. Same kind of joke this is. If you don't remember, even there were fan base for actor or director or industry for promoting Adipurush or Brahmastra as best ever film made. And there are youtube channels, reviewers, critics doing same.. Ray once said, "We have a fairly backward audience here, despite the film society movement and other initiatives. If you consider the audience at large, it is a backward audience". It's still so true today.
