I saw him live once in OKC, I had to get the album, the 1st one was brand new at the time, and I still have my t-shirt. The screen print was crooked AF on it but I still rock it XD Evan Brewer is a genius

It really does sound good for it being sampled/synthed or whatever it is doing. I've spent years trying to get that deep metallic/suspension bridge cables snapping off the road during an earthquake type of sound on the bass. Its a tuff tone to achieve. It takes the right bass. Fresh or cleaned strings for recording the take. I recommend practicing in a 2nd bass, keep the clean strings for gametime. I had better luck with active pickups. And hours messing with settings. And a few experimental hardware ideas that was hit or miss. The hardest part for me was getting the high end of the bass tone to NOT overpower or dissappear with the vocals and guitars and effects. You really gotta carve out a spot for everything in the frequencies, depending on the mood of the part . This is a great tool! It really is

For recording maybe, but for the live performance some rare breed of bassists like Ryan Martinie or Wally, are always relevant, cause the passionate style of their playing which makes the show go on.
