With the snow gone and the roads opened up, I traveled to a high mountain lake in search of big Brook Trout that I could smoke in a homemade smoker! And I was not disappointed!

My husband and I love to watch your channel. We are seniors and we think you are just wonderful! Today's video you mentioned a big foot print. Do you know about bears sweety? I would love you to check out one of our other favorite people to watch, Stan Mills. He hikes all over the mountains of Yellowstone. He doesn't fish, so there is not competition for you with that. But Stan is extremely knowledgeable about bears. He has episodes that identify footprints too. The one you pointed out, the big one and small one are bear prints. Please be be careful. We would never want anything to happen to you.

I have a gun with me so we’re good there, there are quite a few bears in that area. It just didn’t look like a bear track to me at the time but I guess that’s what it was. I’ll have to check that guy out! Thanks for watching!

You know I am the type that love to go off the grid to fish cause that’s where you get the best and biggest fish, but your episode with the dead cougar was a reminder how I tend to get caught up with my adventure and sure I have a side arm with me,but even more important then that is to have your wits about yourself and I’ll admit sometimes I get caught up in the moment fishing with my back turned from a possible encounter so if anything that episode turned my lightbulb back on bright from the dimness it currently had.

Dude, I've tried that method of fishing my lures on the very bottom that didn't go to well. There's so much debris on the bottom I sadly lost some nice lures. The only way I could do this is near the bottom. I usually count 5 seconds to let it fall, and then I retrieve lure, going fast so I don't get snagged. Usually, that's the speed I go. If I go moderate speed, it's for no more than 2 seconds at a time. This works for me as I've stated too much debris 😢
