A tip for the fly rod is to use a dry dropper rig and switch flies frequently until you find one that they like
@KimchiJerry Жыл бұрын
That’s what I was going to suggest or he could try to match the hatch but a dry dropper rig is always a must !

Moose crossing your trail, Bald Eagle flying directly over your head, Butterfly landing on you and hanging out with the leeches?! Also caught 6 fish and didn't get eaten by a Bear or a Mountain Lion even after fryng up some killer fish tacos? Best day ever! Anybody ever tell you, You look like Grizzly Adams? Act like him too.. Maybe I'll start calling you Grizzly Buck?! Thanks Buck for taking us along again.

Under an indicator try using the 30-20-30 rule. Let it sit for 30 sec then slowly strip in 20 inches then wait another 30 sec etc. the fish will sit there staring at the fly and they get more and more antsy until you move it then they almost have to eat it once it moves.

I find the hook will set a bit better when I strip set for fish on the fly rather than trying to set the hook with the rod like a spinning rod. Love to see fly fishing, catch and cooks in the mountains 🙌
@hgflies Жыл бұрын
(Strip set: setting the hook with the fly line then slightly but quickly raising the rod tip after you feel the fish on) Less pulling the fly out of the fish’s mouth and or ripping the lips of the fish when strip setting hooks

How do you cast the spinning rod with the bale pointing towards the pond or body of water ? It’s throwing me off 😂 but I highly recommend 2lb line for small jigs and spinners because it looks like you’re using 6lb line ? Just an assumption.

Just a tip. Your using a (small eyed)bait casting rod with a spinning reel. That’s why we can hear line whipping noise every time you cast. Besides you’ll be able to be more stealthy & cast farther. Great vids👍👍👍
@bassntroutfishing Жыл бұрын
Not it’s definitely not a baitcasting rod.. I just think there’s not enough line on my reel so I have to cast it harder.
