In 2022, the flagship endurance road bike from the Italian brand, Basso Astra, underwent an update featuring a more relaxed geometry and increased tire clearances.
Such modifications are becoming increasingly common in this realm due to the growing popularity of gravel bikes. The Basso Astra frame utilizes a combination of high-modulus MR60 and Toray T600 carbon fiber, carefully balanced to offer both comfort and stiffness suitable for endurance riding, albeit with a slight compromise on weight.
Since Basso doesn't produce a higher-spec carbon version of the Astra, the exact benefits of such an iteration remain unknown. However, Basso asserts that the frame weighs approximately 980g in an unspecified size.
There's a general consensus that using so-called lower-grade carbon could enhance comfort levels to some extent.
The design of the frame reflects Basso's inclination towards bikes with a classic aesthetic. Just as I lauded Basso's race bike, the Basso Diamante, as "beautiful" in our 2023 Bike of the Year evaluation, the Astra exudes a similar elegance.

But honestly i do recommend tcr for beginners simply because this bike will do u no wrong if u dun have a prefer brand or bike model

Beginner just get a cheap bike and gun the mileage to build the base (easy Z2), and do some cross training, strengthening, plyometrics etc.......mileage/duration also improves "experience". Same goes for other sports like running. In fact, running can enhance cycling significantly. Unfortunately, it's often the other way round in reality.

Right, many of today's bikes and equipment that are above the entry level price point are actually fine and don't matter much in the majority of scenarios and uses here. Unless you really do serious races and are after timings. A lot more depends on individual fitness, training and experience, but then very few can afford to train (or even just ride) 5-6 times weekly and afford to emploiy really good recovery and be on a very good diet, sleep and micronutrients supplementation, and it just so happens that most of us enjoy a relatively good level of purchashing power here. Just IMO.

Actually im quite impressed by her reply on idmatch compare to traditional bike fitting. Could be a bit PR answers but what she said Is quite true. Tbh nowadays bike fitters also use computerized statistics to do bike fit like retul .. the actual traditional bike fitter r really those do without computer assistance.

Doesn't matter if it's a 1k or 10k bike, you should always buy the one you'll enjoy riding most. While the rest of the biking world is in a post covid decline, Sg still manages to enjoy a robust cycling community and this is perhaps the best time to get your dream bike.

She's wise to pick 105 Di2. It's so good, and the weight is the same as Ultegra except for a couple parts. I would buy 105 Di2 or Dura Ace. Ultegra is actually the redundant groupset for smart shoppers.

I think you should dedicate part of your channel to low budget but still decently ok bikes (about 7-800 to 1.5 maybe 2k) cycling is more than all the flashy fancy bikes shown here so far. Every cyclist and their bike has a story to tell. Some people can't/arent willing to spend that much

If he wants to create new content and interests its advisable to start doing interesting builds that is out of the normal. It gets stale after the 50th carbon road bike. One of my favorite things in interviews is experienced riders perspective of cycling, stories about why they use different accessories and how it works for them.

We had 3 or 4 seasons of Zwift Cycling Academy since Jay Vine. Have you seen the bikes each finalists rode before they get to ride a Canyon? Spoiler: they weren’t cheap bikes 😂 What I’m trying to get at is (road) cycling as a hobby has never been cheap. Bikes and bike parts costs money, bike repairs costs money, fuelling costs money (even when done with sugar, salt and water), nutrition costs money, training (with or without coach) costs money. I get what you are trying to say, but I think the content you are looking for would be served best by Path Less Pedaled and Two Wheel Cruise.
