When I travelled through the No.9 Highway in the Taitung County area, Taiwan ; that day was the 7th. of April, 2024. The weather was cloudy and filled with blue and depress, the sunlight seemed presented and gone to somewhere; the tidal waves of the Pacific Ocean seems shout to somenting or someone; I gazed at the sea shore and sky, at that moment, I still cannot understand and wonder why: the rhythms from the 2nd. movement of this double bass sonata were arised from my brain. There were so many cars and motocyclies, sooters passed throuth me, the people(s) knows where to, the only thing that I did is nothing but stare blankly. I parked my scooter alone the Highway, and "listen" to the Sonata in E Minor for Double Bass and Piano which composed by Montag in my mind. Lonely so much? Maybe. Thanks for the great, nice plays by Dominik Wagner and Can Cakmur, your performance is nothing but wonderful and vivid like an angel fall into its thinking. Bravo!! Applaused from Taiwan.

Wonderful interpretation, both of you. . loved it Very responsive and interpretive pianist as well, you guys were really on the same page. I've played this piece before (bass), some of those entrances and coordinations are really difficult. Kudos also for doing all three movements in one take! much more difficult than splitting them up into separate shoots.. loved it

Do you know the story behind different editions of the score saying either "Andante moderato" or "Allegro moderato" for the 1st movement? (They both say a tempo of 112.) Is one known to be a typographical error? Or did the composer change his mind at some point?

Very nice, but the piano is mixed above the bass, too much presence over the melody of the bass.
