Gorgeous tone. This amp sounds like it bridges the tube/class D divide beautifully. Nice Gregor. I'm excited too!

Very nice! I wonder how it compares to the Mesa WD-800? How is the use of the tube in the preamp different between these two? Thanks!

So it's just like the Streamliner with an additional voicing control. What I have done is put an EQ pedal like the Source Audio on the effects loop on the Streamliner and it has become a very versatile amplifier and they are cheap on the used market and can be refresh by the Genz Benz repair program.. The GK also has the Fusion S which is gnarlier than this and more voicing options

I was an artist for Genz Benz, Jeff Genzler makes some incredible gear, I wish they would make some more acoustic and electric guitar gear. I would for sure be on board for that.

As always a great video from bass the world. I would be excited if I hadn't just bought the Magellan 800. Oh well, I'll just have to suffer through.😉

I dig my hybrid amps, especially now that i am 67 years old? But a huge problem with Class D amp heads is the lack of a way to replace the power supply, and the lack of a way to easily remove the tubes for testing and replacement. When the power supply goes belly up, you throw away the head. And if you have to eviscerate the amp to work with the tubes, that is a pain in the ass. Frankly, I should be able to unplug and remove the Class D power board and buy a replacement online. Same with tubes!

Honestly dude you seem passionate and knowledgeable about this and I’m sure if you messaged Jeff Genzler with your concerns he’d get back to you with a good answer. I’d genuinely recommend reaching out to him. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to make garbage.

Genzler has been making my favorite amps for a long time. I have two Shuttles and a Streamliner, all great sounding amps. I gave my son my 6.0 Shuttle with the bracket on the top of the cab, he just took it on tour with no issues. But my GK class D amp had the switchmode amp fail, and it is more money than the amp is worth to try to fix it. these are modules that they all buy from the same suppliers, hence my concern.

Genzler and Genz Benz will repair amps even with broken power modules. I just did it with a 2011 Streamliner and was not very expensive. amp is as good as new and will go for another 13 years. Also many Acoustic Image amps - built in 1998 - one of the first Bass amps with class D are still running. My Acosutic Image series III is still running and had it it since 2007,

I recently sent my Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2 in for a replacement pre amp tube. I bought it new in 2011 and it has been a fantastic amp. Jeff really stands behind his products, new and old.

@@Vaughn0560 I gave my 6.0 to my son, and he took it on tour with him. It is still serving him well. I am using a Streamliner with my band, great sounding amp also. My 9.0 is making a background crackling noise, though. Where did you send yours in for a tube?

This thing where a $1500 head becomes a six pound metal frisbee when the switch-mode power supply has issues is unacceptable. This world where farmers are losing their land because of cow farts and fertilizer has no place in it for disposable tech, not to mention proprietary chargers, electric cars that are unfixable, etc. We in the musical community should step up and set an example!
