I have never heard about this stuff until now. Of course, it’s been nearly 10 years since I’ve done any quilting. I’ve spent that time crocheting shawls for a private charity I started. In that time, I’ve crocheted close to 200 shawls that were given to women/girls battling illness or loss. I even donated 2 dozen to a Christian mission hospital in Haiti, and one to Melanie Trump. Thank you for your demo. When I get back into quilting, I’m going to have to pick some up.

Can this product be used with fiberfil batting?

More difficult as it is so fine. It can be done but takes longer. Just try on scrap and see what you think.

I think that you would need to lay out your fabric face down, and dust the fabric. When you lay out your fiberfil, you will need to place a scrap piece of fabric over it, to melting the batting onto your iron. It will probably take a bit more ironing than if fabric was on top.

This does not work a waste of money! I used it on a table runner and a quilt. Ironed on the floor the back and batting first and then the front and batting and it had salt like particles leaking out all over the floor. I then ironed both sides on the ironing board again over and over with a very hot iron. If I pressed any harder I would have gone through the ironing board . Vacuumed my floor and again salt like particles all over again. Says to brush off excess, which I did but while ironing particles work their way through the fabric.

If you had actually payed attention to what she demonstrated, you would have seen that you are supposed to fuse one side at a time. That’s why she had to batting laid out first. 1) Lay out your batting. 2) Dust the batting. 3) Lay backing onto the batting. 4) Iron to fuse backing to batting. 5) Turn your piece backing side down. 6) Dust the batting. 7) Lay top onto the batting. 8) Iron to fuse Top to batting. It’s not rocket surgery. This is the first I’ve ever heard about this stuff, and already understand how to use it. Just try again, fusing only one side at a time, and you should be fine.

If you read my comment you would have understood that is exactly what I did! Maybe you should have paid attention. Reading is not a rocket science either.

I followed the directions carefully and, although the paricles did adhere the quilt sandwich, I had particles on my ironing table and floor. I was careful when sprinkling. Not sure If I would use this again.
