“Bastien Rieser belongs among the young trumpet players of international class"
Süddeutsche Zeitung, 2022
@Bastien Rieser came to try our gear at @Musik Gillhaus in Freiburg. What a player! Bastien has a wide range of both technique and musical expression under his fingers.
Here you get to see his reactions to trying our new “Solo Model” together with various LOTUS Mouthpieces. In the end, he ordered a new Solo model which we are in the process of building for him.
We’re looking forward greatly to hearing what you’ll do with your musical talent and impressive ability, Bastien!
/Henrik

Im living in Belgium and I would really love to try (and then buy hehe) some lotus mouthpieces and horns but it seems like there’s no dealers in belgium and all dealers in france and the netherlands are sold out. Any tips on where I can try some of your gear? I thought of just ordering online but it would definately be nicer to try some stuff before buying it. Which mouthpieces would be comparable to a yamaha 11b4 ? If I really can’t find anything around to try, I might just ‘risk’ it and order online without trying different stuff first

Hi Adam! I'm currently playing on a Giardinelli 7c and looking to buy a Lotus mouthpiece. Do you think the 3L or the 7L would be a better pick? I'm looking for a bit of a richer sound, so I'll probably go for bronze either way.

It is so difficult to be 100% certain. We recommend you try both the 7L2 and 3L2. Order directly from us = full refund minus shipping within 30 days of delivery. That way you can order both, test them and return the one you don't want.....or sell it to a buddy;) Here is a list of our growing roster of dealers, perhaps one is near to you (and Thomann as well): www.lotustrumpets.com/dealers

How can we try out the mouthpiece in Northern California

We are working on getting a location up there but that's not happening just yet. What brand and model of mouthpiece(s) are you on now? We can assist with size recommendation before you order.

I think that's the first time I've heard a low Eb sound halfway decent on a trumpet. It's still not that good and is a note that should be given to the trombones, but on that trumpet at least it's a real note. Also, as a low brass player I must object to that being called a pedal note. It is still on the 2nd partial, and is not a pedal tone in terms of the physics. The real pedal Eb is an octave lower, right below the bass clef staff.

On trumpet, low F (concert Eb) is a pedal note, no doubt about it. The instrument bottoms out at concert E

That's why we offer the Rapa 4-valve. Extends the range below Eb but the notes are real and solid and only require the thumb to push a trigger to open a rotary valve. Suuuuper easy and doesn't require changing technique or hand position. Rapa uses it on his Solo Max and Solo.

Hi @lotustrumpets6739 Im Looking To Buy a mouthpeice that just can really get bright and loud in the upper register and just makes the work easier i was looking between a 2L2 HC in Bronze and/or a 1L2 HC in Nickle Silver. By any chance witch would be the better option or is there a different mouth peice? i guess you could sag im looking for a mouth peice that can do it all. im currently on a bach 3c and do mostly ensamble playing and a little bit of jazz here and there, and i was just asking because i wanted somthing fun to play around on and really brighten up my playing and make the upper register easy with less effort. thank you.

The correct match for a 3C is the LOTUS 2L2HC. Bronze = default warmer sound that won't brighten back up until you reach Forte or play with some "punch". Brass is full and well balance as one would expect it to be. Nickel Silver = default brighter and more focused/directional. Great for Latin music or a loud stage situation or for requiring even less effort to produce a shiny and very centered tone.
